verything to do with wages corporate America wanting to drive down wagesBernie is probably pandering to his labor donors, but he's right.
Especially, when they vote against the Cornyn amendment which would have disqualified criminals who stole identities (to get a job) and ignored deportation orders from citizenship. We just gotta let these criminals gain citizenship?! What's the point of the background checks?!

The Senate refused at midday to shut off debate on the immigration overhaul bill and move toward a vote, leaving the fate of the legislation uncertain and setting up another, all-important procedural vote this evening.
The move to end debate was rejected by 63 to 33, so the bills backers fell 27 votes short of the 60 needed to invoke what is known as cloture and set up a yes-or-no vote on the legislation itself.
...The important part
bills backers fell 27 votes short

You should make that a "woo hoo" Reid and Spector are in the back rooms surving up Pork and twisting arms ... both just tried to get Sen. Sessions to leave the podium and go look at their "cooked up deal" Sessions refused! New vote scheduled later around 5pm eastern.

I had to call the number 3 times today to get Alexander (TN). It kept going over to Corker.
When I finally got Alexander’s office I told the woman to enforce current amnesty laws and build the fence or I would spend every waking hour doing everything humanly possible to see that he loses his office.
With all my other daily calls to his office that simply stated “kill S 1368 NOW”, they have just said, “Thank you, I’ll give Mr. Alexander your message.” This time they asked for my name and address which I was more than glad to give them. She asked me to repeat my last name. I think she was a bit surprised that it was hispanic. LOL

College-looking girl was passing out Immigration-Support flyers at the Rosslyn Metro this morning - I crumpled it up & threw it away right in front of her, then returned from the gate to tell her about the black churches in PG recruiting laborers to rebuild New Orleans. When the buses got down there, they were sent right back. They were told “We don’t need you now, the Mexicans are here.” I told her illegal immigrants were putting American citizens out of work and that SHE was supporting that. Look of horror crossed her face, maybe she’ll retain a clue.

UNFORTUNATELY yes. As you've well said. I for one get no great joy from what it implies.

Posted this on another thread as well. Funny story. Called Isakson’s office on Tuesday. Told woman who answered I wanted to voice my opinion on an issue. She said, well ma’am, I’d be glad to pass that along to the senator. But I HAVEN’T SAID A WORD YET, I replied! So you’re calling to oppose the immigration bill was her next question. I just laughed and said, why would say that? She laughed as well and we politely hung up.
They are getting the message!
