This is the homestretch.
Call and e-mail your senators today, Republicans and Democrats, urging them not to table debate on this critical piece of legislation.
It deserves a fair and open debate of all ramifications. To do otherwise is unamerican.
Ask them to vote "NO" on cloture.
Keep bumping this to the top.
Today is the day.

I am shocked I tell ya! They are all voting no on cloture.
Wonder what procedural game we are playing now! Even Harry Reid voted no.

My cable just went out so I’m depending on FR to let me know what’s going on now.

Did I hear Reid say he was going to go for cloture a second time this afternoon? This cloture vote sounds like it is going to fail. But maybe it’s just another obfuscation attempt, so people can say “I voted no on cloture”, but then flip their votes this afternoon.
Anyone know if this might kill the bill? I’ve only been able to catch snatches of coverage here and there today.

I don’t think they even have 50 votes for cloture this time around.

“Did I hear Reid say he was going to go for cloture a second time this afternoon?”
You are probably correct. This is why some of the dems are voting NO. A not vote gives a senator the power by senate rules to bring it up for cloture again.

"cloture - The only procedure by which the Senate can vote to place a time limit on consideration of a bill or other matter, and thereby overcome a filibuster. Under the cloture rule (Rule XXII), the Senate may limit consideration of a pending matter to 30 additional hours, but only by vote of three-fifths of the full Senate, normally 60 votes."
Just FYI so everyone knows what "cloture" means.

They're going to hammer out a last ditch effort today and if necessary over the weekend.
Now is the time to switch back to your concrete objections to the special privileges afforded to criminals, the bill's prioritization of illegal aliens' "privacy rights" over security, and the absolute lack of health screening against diseases like TB.
Keep communicating to them, and link their support of S. 1348 to the way you intend to vote in the next election.
We're going to prevail.
