Today is the Cloture Vote on Immigration Bill [first cloture vote fails; 2nd cloture vote fails]
7 June 2007 | Gulf War One

Posted on 06/07/2007 6:17:41 AM PDT by Gulf War One

This is the homestretch.

Call and e-mail your senators today, Republicans and Democrats, urging them not to table debate on this critical piece of legislation.

It deserves a fair and open debate of all ramifications. To do otherwise is unamerican.

Ask them to vote "NO" on cloture.

Keep bumping this to the top.

Today is the day.

Hey, Feinstein, if they’re here illegally today, and a bill makes them not illegal tomorrow, it’s AMNESTY!

My wife went through immigration to citizenship, and I walked every inch of that path with her.

Hey Boxer! You are a naive and gullible fool. It's amnesty!

Feinstein says we can't deport 12 million people.

We CAN make it difficult for the illegals to stay here, and then they will self-deport.

Give them a timeline to liquidate their assets and move back to their homeland (whichever one it may be), with the warning that if they don't and we catch them after that "amnesty" period, they will be deported and will lose any illegally attained assets in the process.

It is indeed a great victory. Millions of people broke our laws because they were counting on the likes of McCain, Lindsey Graham, Kyl, Arlen Specter, Martinez and all their RAT allies to let them get away with it.

They are like Paris Hilton. They think they are above our laws. That the backstabbing RINOs and their RAT buddies tried to let them off, but were soundly defeated by lawful Americans, should send a clear message to La Raza Mecha Lulac intruders.

Enforce the existing laws! Get the illegals out! Prosecute the exploiters who want a lower class lower wage work force like slave traders of the past!

You fooled us in 1986. Well, fool me once, shame on you, because you won’t fool me twice. Try to fool me twice and then fail, and you will lose your next election.

You still have it wrong, the second bill was closer than the first, meaning the dems and rinos picked up another 13 votes in favor of the cloture motion. If the cloture vote passes debate ends and a move to final passage occurs which only needs 60 votes to avoid a filibuster and 51 votes to pass if a filibuster fails. In such a case the votes usually fall along party lines with the dems picking up at least a number of rinos. I count McConnell, McCain, Collins, Hagel, Graham, Specter, Lugar, Domineci, Voinivich, Snowe, Craig, Bennett, Murkowski, Stevens and perhaps Kyl as possible votes for cloture in the end.

We don’t have to go to DC. We just get folks to go to their local courthouses in the evenings, after work. No slogans. No chants. No banners. No yelling. Just the rythmic jangle of house keys.

I’ve NEVER heard anything so powerful in my 62years on this planet!

Ali,

Boy, do I understand.

Will my son, ever, in a billion years, have Senators fighting for his rights, like they have for those that broke out laws to get here? NO. Will my son have to pay out the nose (actually, will my husband and I have to pay out the nose) for his college education? The same college education that many of our “leaders” want to give to the children of those that are here illegally? It goes on and on....

That’s the tally AFTER the bandwagon jumpers changed their votes.

Good luck finding a tally that shows what you want.

The kicker for me was. They would let gang members simply state that they would ‘’promise’’ not to be gang members any more. Upon doing this they would be granted Z -visas to stay here forever. My best friend was mugged and raped by a gang member. AN ILLEGAL! ,,,,,,,,,,How stupid and maddening was this bill?!!!

OK, here we go again, just as a reminder of who's supporting this abomination:

The American Meat Institute ran this ad in Congressional Quarterly last year:

"Though no one wants to reward illegal behavior, we must find a way for these workers to come forward, make good on the past and participate in a program that leads to permanent residency and eventual citizenship."
