But, do I still have to “Press 1 for English”?

Yet, they also passed the Salazar amendment, which requires the government to provide “native language” documentation to Z-visa holders for Z-visa holders when they do things like apply for federal benefits.

If it becomes law, the bill will give Z-visas to millions of illegal immigrants making them legal. Under the Salazar amendment, they will have little incentive to learn English because they will be able to use their native language while doing business with the federal government.

Forget trying to amend this POS. Instead torpedo it altogether.

Press 1 for English is a different issue, that is the freedom of businesses to operate as they see fit.. some companies (like the one I work with) have international customer bases.

That is fine. However, when I call the local power company, it is different.

They will never allow it to be the "common" language. This is not the same as "English ONLY", and that's what it needs to be.......

They will allow 30 languages into America and make all of us pay for printing all the forms in those languages.

" They would have to pass the English requirement on the citizenship exam before getting a green card."

Interesting, that would put them ahead of most public school teachers, news reporters, and Democratic voters.

The Salazar amendment, passed right after the Inhofe amendment, in effect cancels out the Inhofe amendment.

It was just a scam to give cover to these slime balls so the can say they voted to make English the official language (before they voted against making English the official language).
