Send those troopers out here to California. Maybe they could clean up the road from all the regular drivers who not only don’t speak English, they don’t even have a driver’s license.

“”Current estimates are that we have a shortage of about 30,000 drivers,” Harris said.””
Ha, ha.
More like a “wage shortage.”
And could also proactively look for Americans to train.

Give this trooper a medal and a raise!
People working in our country should speak our language...english. Period. Of course, there shouldn’t be any need for foreign truckers, etc. No one can tell me that this is a case of “work that Americans won’t do”.
Senator Inhofe has an amendment (S.1151) to the immigration reform bill (hey, that’s what they call 1348) that would make english the national language. Call all the Senators and tell them that you support it! But do it now, before the Dems attempt cloture on Thursday.

Truck drivers used to make decent money, doing a job most citizens wouldn’t want to do, at twice the former pay scale.
But if a transportation company can hire someone to do the same job, at less than half the price, who cares if the driver is really qualified to to do the job?
I do.
My customers call me to clean up the mess of non-english speaking drivers trying to shake them down for “inside delivery charges” to offload their cargo quite often.
I often drive on the interstates, and no longer assume the 18 wheeler driver passing me on the right or the left has even the vaguest clue as to how to drive that big rig safely and professionally.

"It isn't a question of them not understanding the trucking industry or safe driving. Oh, god forbid!
And I guess them able to read traffic signs is too much to ask as well.

If so, wonder where this guy got his? Well they caught the dot man selling them in Pennsylvania, I doubt if he was the only one. Besides it could have been a real license, just the guy using it wasn't the one it was issued to.
