‘Sleepless in Seattle’ Director Nora Ephron Shamefully Mocks Foiled JFK Terror Plot

Posted by Noel Sheppard on June 6, 2007 - 10:04.
The reader is warned to proceed with caution, for the piece of…"journalism" to be addressed here is truly one of the most vile and disgraceful examples of Bush Derangement Syndrome I’ve seen.

In fact, it is so much so that I will not copy one single sentence of this detritus beyond the headline which appeared at the Huffington Post early Monday morning, and is still prominently featured there 58 hours later, which tells us a lot about the proprietor and her readership.

With “How to Foil a Terrorist Plot in Seven Simple Steps,” screenwriter and director Nora Ephron has despicably disgraced all Americans working for various federal agencies as they risk their lives trying to protect this nation from another terrorist attack.

In reality, America-haters like Ephron were the first to point accusatory fingers of blame at the President for not “connecting the dots” before 9/11, yet gleefully and proudly mock every foiled subsequent attack as the nation quickly approaches the six anniversary of that solemn event having not lost one additional soul on our mainland as a result of terrorism since.

Alas, Bush Derangement Syndrome prevents folks like Ephron from understanding such logic.

Of course, why should that be a surprise? After all, Ephron also believes that Rosie O’Donnell is a poet and “The View” is must-see TV.

The most sobering thing about this article are the comments at the linked site. There are over 150, and only 2 or 3 actually understand that there is a war going on. The rest think that the whole thing is a fabrication of the Bush Administration.

Well, she did direct a movie so obviously she is an expert on geopolitical matters.

I'm not sure which depresses me more: the actual Ephron essay, or the majority of comments it received on the HuffPo. So many blissful idiots out there, ready to see oppression and hysteria in the other side's views.

Of course, had the JFK plot NOT been foiled, it would have been Bush's fault.

The Left is boringly predictable, but a continuing threat nonetheless.

I'm glad she's not a writer/director I like. On that list, I didn't like a single one of her simpering chick flicks.

They are emblematic of what is wrong with Hollywood.

Of course, my idea of a good chick flick is Super Troopers or Dawn of the Dead...

I don't suppose you have an unmarried sister?  "sigh"

People like Ephron are the intellectual descendants of those who thought the Rosenbergs were innocent or, at worst, harmless amateurs.

It’s too bad, in a way, because Ephron’s novel Heartburn really was funny. It’s her revenge novel about her breakup with Bernstein.

Ms Ephron is able to write such treasonous excrement because she was lucky enough to not have been a passenger on one of the Boston/DC/NJ to LA/SF flights which were hijacked and crashed on 9/11/2001. 9/11 was not stopped in time. It was considered “technically not feasible” to bring down both WTC Towers by nearly every intelligence agency in the world. Yet it was accomplished completely. Had the JFK plot—which was technically hundreds of times more feasible than 9/11— succeeded, Ms Eprhon would surely be using the same BDS rationales. With the Loony Left, one can never win. If the attack is stopped: it was a phony attack concocted to justify Iraq. If the attack succeeded: it was because Iraq spread us too thin.

You know, they were so patently like minded, as were their names, I have serious doubts that she left the comment section up to chance.....

Y’know....we should all print that picture off and mail it to her....anyone have her address?

A cursory search proved fruitless....the Artist Management agency's address published at IMDB is available only to paid subscribers (the stoat has better things to spend money on) and I'm guessing that like most other celebrities, this one is protected from the unwashed masses by numerous layers of security and management to the point where any such meaningful photos or letters would never get within miles of her.

These Hollywood jerks must be boycotted. I haven’t been to a Hollywood movie in over ten years, nor have I rented one.

Enough is enough.

Although I agree to a point, I would only wish to politely suggest that by imposing such a complete and sweeping boycott of an entire entertainment medium upon yourself, you are depriving yourself of what can occasionally be a delightful and meaningful communication, informational and entertainment medium, even if it is misused in such an ugly fashion by so many these days.  Although it's not a 'Hollywood" film, Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ" is a film that one would be straining to call "leftist', and there are many older films that Conservatives are likely to enjoy.  Here is a list from National Review:

Conservative Movie Guide on NRO

ovies mirror society. Many of the great conservative films were produced during Hollywood’s Golden Age of the Thirties and Forties, when

the ideals of Western civilization were almost universally accepted. By the Seventies, alas, the counterculture was being reflected in the new Hollywood’s nihilistic themes and chaotic styles. The trend began with Midnight Cowboy and Easy Rider in 1969, and reached its nadir in 1973 with Marlon Brando’s pornographic sexual epic of alienation, Last Tango in Paris. Pauline Kael, voluble critic of The New Yorker, cried out with joy: “The movie breakthrough has finally come.” (Indeed, and the social wreckage from such breakthroughs against traditional restraint is everywhere to be seen.) Today the film is as dated as any Shirley Temple movie, though without the charm.

The recovery began with Star Wars (1977) and its sequels, The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Return of the Jedi (1983), whose simple truths about heroism and the triumph of good over evil (not to mention space defense) were harbingers of the Reagan Eighties. The Reagan years saw quite a number of conservative films — not to mention destruction of the real-life Evil Empire. Hence our honorees include many recent films as well as classics from the Thirties and Forties.

Then envelopes, please.”

Good Lord, I read that tripe. So there are no real terrorists, and 9-11 was a plot by Bushco. Just ask experts like Rosie. Yes, people actually agree with this excrement, not just on the elite coasts, but here in Minnesota.

And a gang of their representative thugs will beat you bloody in an alley if you dare to suggest that they are not the most thoughtful and patriotic, loyal and peace-loving Americans around.
