As a Christian woman, I also find these paintings offensive. I tried to teach my son to respect and honor women, like Christ respects and honors the church.

While you may find this nose art offensive, these were real morale boosters for our troops serving in theaters of operation throughout WWII, The Korean War, Vietnam and in The Gulf War and beyond.

Let the troops have their fun to boost their morale.

They will fight even better to defend your freedom to worship Christianity.

What greater honor is there than to be the choice of men whose last fond memory might be your image? I mean, these guys may not come back from a bombing run, you know.

Nothing personal, but how about teaching your son to respect those who put their asses on the line to protect your Christian butt.

I am a Catholic woman, and I JUST LOVE NOSE ART!

I’ve given my sons books about this stuff, and do not see any harm at all in letting “boys be boys”. Before you cross me off as a “bad mom”, please take time to check the link here that has many nose art paintings.

Maybe you could also check out “Glamorous Glennis” “Memphis Belle” and “Enola Gay” and “Texas Ruby”. Who says that the girls didn’t fight in WWII? These paintings honored women and were the battle scarves of the modern day knights.

If this nose art should be removed, THAT is the reason why. Not because people of various false religions (Mohammadists, feminists, etc.) get their oh-so-sensitive feelings hurt by it.

Luckily for you, you aren’t involved in the killing. Maybe if you were you wouldn’t be so hypersensitive.
Being offended is something for you to deal with in an adult fashion but don’t endorse taking a small pleasure away from those doing the dirty work.

The men who enjoy this nose art put their lives on the line so that you have 1) a right to be offended; 2) the right to say and post that you are offended; and 3) the right to teach your son anything that you please. Perhaps you should ignore the nose art that you do not have to look at and let these guys do a little something to entertain themselves and/or boost their morale.

Just a thought ...

You realize that if Eve didn’t take that darn apple this wouldn’t even be an issue for you.

They harm no one except those who are hyper-sensitive. Grow up.

You know what lady. Its people like you who have neutered the male culture in this country. I am all for respecting women. I was raised never to dishonor a woman or raise a hand in anger to one. All I got from it was walked all over by my ex-wife. So I will tell you what; if you are offended by a soldier or sailor or airman who is trying to remind himself and his buddies of what they are likely dying for, you need to grow a thicker skin. You do NOT have the right to be offended by every little thing. You do NOT have the right to foist you puritanism upon others, and you most certainly do NOT have the right to CENSOR the freedom of expression of the men and women who lay their lives on the line so you can live fat, dumb, and happy here stateside. GET A CLUE!

Well, as another Christian woman, let me suggest that if you are offended, you always have the option of not joining the RAF so you won't have to see such offensive art. No one is holding a gun to your head and forcing you either to study these pictures or to read a thread where your thoughts might be compromised.

Most men don't fight for some abstract political cause. At the deepest level of their psyches they are fighting for their homes and the women back there. Let these strong heterosexual men be reminded of what they love and want.

Might I politely suggest this quote to you:

"People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf."
-George Orwell

While you raise your fine son, and peacefully attend your church, you might give that quote some real deep thought. You might then realize that those "rough men" are - and have been - giving their life and limb to keep your prissy ass safe from those who would just as well rape you, your son and then cut off your heads.

But, please go ahead and feel free to be "offended" and hold and post your derogative thoughts regarding those "rough men" and their very few, and possibly last, little pleasures. Unlike you, I am reasonably sure that they will still offer up their lives just to assure that you are allowed to continue to be "offended".

I am sorry but I disagree with you. Nose art has been known to help the morale of the troops in war. It is harmless and almost always some of the best artwork out there.

And as Christ did, I allow women to clean my feet with their hair.

Happy to say I have an available time next Wednesday.

Dang, was I insensitive again? Darn....

As a Christian man, you need to understand the difference between a passing thought and lust.

Maybe you should read Song of Solomon. It’s the best erotic literature ever written.

I am sick and tired of some so-called Christian writers who equate a man noticing an attractive woman with lust. God made women so that they would be sexually attractive to men, so why should anyone act shocked that they are.
