That’s awful rude to Jeri. She was over 30 when they got together (it’s not like she was 20!), and if what he wanted was a trophy wife, he could’ve always married Lorrie Morgan! It’s a pretty low blow for you to judge their relationship, and even lower to insult Jeri like that. She’s an intelligent, accomplished, independent woman who could’ve had her pick of men, and she and Fred chose each other.

That implies that Fred married her for image only. I don’t think you could possibly have enough information to make that judgement unless you personally know Fred, and have known him for a long time. If you do....then touche’. If you don’t then you are making a judgement based on your own prejudices.

Whether or not it plays well with the public remains to be seen. I don’t think it will matter at all.

That “trophy wife” is the mother of a toddler and an infant. They are a family for Pete’s sake. That’s what people will see.

I have several friends with at least 12-15 years difference in age. Sometimes love develops outside of society’s “definition”.

Nope, she's not. A trophy wife is a woman for whom a man dumps his first wife. Fred had divorced his first wife in 1985, and was single when he moved to DC as a Senator. He dated several women during that time, and met Jeri then.

I'm a middle aged woman and have no problem with him having a younger wife, especially since I know he didn't leave his first wife for her. In fact, there is some info that Fred's first wife might be willing to campaign for him. That tells me something important about the man.
