Nearly all successful elected public officials must make some compromises between their public statements and private views. This was as true for Reagan as California governor (e.g., abortion) as it is for Mitt Romney.
In his public views Romney has made a consistent unwavering shift to the right just as Reagan did when he ran for president in 1976 and again in 1980. No flipping. No flopping. Just a steady evolution.
You'll find this is true with Fred Thompson as well.
That's good, because it brings Romney's public views fully into line with his private life. And it is his private life that defines who he is at the core.

If I were Hunter Id tell wolf to kiss my ass and walk off the stage. I think and hope that Hunter is a fighter not a quitter.
I see there's at least one dem in the audience.

Yep, someone who is smart enough to get out of the ‘beltway’ and go back to a real job and has very good taste in women.. damn strait.
Plus, someone who does not have a flip-flop conservative record and has the gravitas to say it like it is instead of waffle around...

I think it will be somewhat harmless, the Reagan rule will apply. Blitzer may not be so fortunate.

September 27, 2007 - Baltimore, Maryland PBS will host a Republican debate in Baltimore, Maryland on the campus of Morgan State University.Wow, three extreme Dem groups all wrapped up in one so-called debate. I wonder if they'll get past questions like, "Don't you think you should apologize for ....whatever..."

Are the candidates taking phone in questions?
