Republican Presidential Candidate Debate #3 - Manchester, New Hampshire 06/05/07 - Official Discussion Thread
WMUR-TV, CNN, and the New Hampshire Union Leader will host a Republican debate in Manchester, New Hampshire on the campus of Saint Anselm College. Moderated by Wolf Blitzer. Debate begins at 7 p.m. EDT (4 p.m. PDT) and will last two hours.
"And may lightening strike if I'm lying!"
[Just had to flag someone who would appreciate your caption!]
did you say in an earlier post that you missed the debate?
it will be rebroadcast on CNN at midnight and again at 4am, if you’re up that early! it will also be on C-Span 2 at 7:30 tomorrow morning. (all east coast times.)
I missed the very beginning and am trying to stay awake to see the first part of the midnight rebroadcast.
Let me ask you...what part of the Article I, Section 8 of the US Constitution authorizes the USA PATRIOT Act?...I mean I know the federal government itself hasn't paid much attention to the Constitutional limits on its power since the New Deal...and I know its become fashionable on here to speak like modern-day New Dealers and complain about politicians who are "always whining about the Constitution"...but demanding that the federal government strictly adhere to the Constitution is still a conservative principle...right?
In 1969, he dropped out of college, joined the army and was sent to Vietnam. From there he mailed his pay to a friend who purchased for him an island in Idaho’s Snake River, where Duncan farmed after his discharge. Then another friend said a San Diego law school would admit him without a college degree. In 1980 he was a lawyer with a storefront office in San Diego’s Hispanic community when his father walked in and told him he could be a congressman. Never mind, his father said, that this district was only 29 percent Republican. Reagan was at the top of the ticket.
Thanks. I watched the debate, but would like to see it again in it's entirety. It's hard to post comments & listen to the debate at the same time!
That’s really an inspiring story about Hunter. He is a remarkable man and I hope people can find out more about him. They would like what they see. I was saying earlier that even if he doesn’t make it all the way to the top as President - I think he would be a great Vice President or Secretary of Defense. This guy has too much knowledge to be wasted - we need Duncan Hunter!
Seems to be a little of this, going on tonight.
In Boston H&C is rebroadcast at midnight. do you have a rebroadcast at midnight in your area? you can see fred thompson then.
” islamic terrorism in Iraq and elsewhere.”
Could elsewhere be the border where god knows how many terrorists have slipped through.
Ha ha.
Duncan Hunter doesn’t believe Bush should be impeached.
Must chap you off.
Better man than you. He disagrees with Arnold, the Prez, whomever, makes it crystal clear, but has the good sense not to be so ridiculous.
One of the main reasons I support him. Very conservative, straight shooter but common sensical and balanced.
>If Fred Thompson declared and got all this air time from H&C could the other candidates demand equal time? Is that how his campaign is different? Free air time without having to pay for it?<
Well, yeah. Last time I looked free meant not having to pay for it. As for your first twop questions, by George, I think you’ve got it!
>Seems to be a little of this going on tonight.<
LOL! We all do that occasionally.
I agree, he is an honorable man with much to offer, if he doesn’t become POTUS, I hope he has a place in the next administration somehow, someway.
God help us if Clinton is elected..
Ron Paul is an idiot. Iraq has made us less safe... Well lets see History shows that Islamic extremists bombed our embassies in Africa, they particiapted in shooting down Black Hawk helicopters in Mogadishu. They plotted and attempted to blow up the WTC in 93, they bombed the USS Cole and killed 17 sailors, well all that was under Clinton then 3000 dead American Citizens on 911 at the hands of Radical Islamist extremists... hmmm we were not on the ground in Iraq at that juncture so does he suppose we were more safe at that point in history?
Where are all the attacks that the pundits claimed we could expect after 911 Mr. Paul? (Crickets chirping)
So it could be said and should be said that George W. Bush invading Iraq has made us more safe at home. I can safely say that many thousands more american citizens would be dead today if Bush had not acted. That is the number on lesson learned of 911 and people like the idiot Ron Paul just don’t get it. He is unqualified to the POTUS and should step down.

It’s much deeper than disagreeing with him any specific issues. He is unqualified to even be on that stage.
Probably. Then again, Tancredo’s GOP colleages in the House were equally part of the problem.
McCain seemed unusually restrained today, almost unnatural. I'm worried he is going to start showing up in Thorazine or Zyprexa commercials.
