I missed the debate. What was the “sound bite of the night”, anyway?

Thanks!

It was whatever the big media says it was. I think they picked some grandstanding drivel from McCain tonight. They want this to be McCain's night, just like last time it was Giuliani's. They slickly hedge their bets between their favored candidates.

My point is that Al Qaeda could find some justification to attack us.
Lets say we left the Middle East. Clearly we would still oppose the Muslim reconquest of Greece, Hungary, Romania, Spain, Portugal. Are we to ignore the number of times that Bin Laden mentions Al Andalus?
And that is only a limited defensive Jihad.

How many in Congress do you suppose have sons fighting in a war action? They usually get them exempted, and let “the little people” do it.

He body slammed Rudy McRomney in his last statement.

Yes he did. What about the idea mentioned of expanding the name to Rudy McRomneyson? Funny.

Some of these folks hve no knowledge of history or current events.
You could also say, why were we fighting in North Africa because Japan attacked us. Because it was part of the whole problem and where the rode map took us.

CNN has a poll up and Ron Paul is being declared winner by some 54% right now, looks like it just started, only a few hundered votes. I got there early to 'spam' the poll. lol

I though Hunter, Romney and Huckabee earned a ticket to the next debate. Maybe yes and maybe no as far as presidential qualities, depends on the issue, but for sure VP qualities. I don't agree 100% with everything they said but have more agreement than disagreement in the overall picture. I also don't see them 'bending over (backwards)' to be liked, as Rudy and McCain have shown me they will do.

As for Rudy and McCain, they will be there since they are the 'heavy weights' of the GOP ... even though they should be gone too. I see them as compromising conservatives and not truly able to lead true conservatives. I've not been overly impressed by them in the past or now.

I wasn't that favorably impressed by the others, on any consistent basis. I think Ron Paul definetly showed he would not protect this country, offensively or defensively. Thompson, Gilmore and Brownback didn't impress me during the other debates and have not risen and to do so now.

The next debates should have fewer debaters, five max but four even better. They should also have some pertinent questions and time to answer and be confronted by the other candidates on stage. Most definetly not CNN/Blitzer or Chrissy Matthews. Some intelligent minds on the questions ... writing them as well as asking them.

Tancredo does have a sort of deer-in-the-headlights sense about him, doesn’t he? Frankly, Hunter isn’t too charismatic either; kind of stooped and glowering. That’s why so many people like Fred Thompson, I think. They think he has the “gravitas.”

I don’t know. I’m sure it’s all in a Spanish dictionary somewhere. The line I ask hispanics is, “No hable Ingles?” If they say no, I ask, “Porque no? Necessita apprender Ingles a noche en escuela pronto! Ahora! Andele! Hablo Espanol — Necessita hable Ingles!”

I am not sure the situations are analogous except to say that yes, civilians die in war.

Exactly my point...A formal declaration of war, or the lack of it, has no bearing on the effect on those caught in the crossfire. I can't see the applicability of the war declaration aspect to this line of discussion.

Hunter called down John McCain for the immigration bill, he said it was time to get away from the Kennedy wing of the Republican party! He also called Romney & Guiliani down for their past support of gun restrictions.

Some aspects of it I disagree, yes.
