Republican Presidential Candidate Debate #3 - Manchester, New Hampshire 06/05/07 - Official Discussion Thread
WMUR-TV, CNN, and the New Hampshire Union Leader will host a Republican debate in Manchester, New Hampshire on the campus of Saint Anselm College. Moderated by Wolf Blitzer. Debate begins at 7 p.m. EDT (4 p.m. PDT) and will last two hours.
Hunter served in Vietnam.
Hunter was a decorated Airborn Ranger in Nam, my friend.
There is a minuscule chance that I heard wrong. Maybe he did say death instead of birthday.
Not in the same sense that John Kerry did, either. He was deep in the goo and knows what our soldiers need.
“are you trying to say Paul doesn’t believe that Bin Laden carried out the 9-11 attacks based on that little paragraph likley taken out of content? “
What do you mean ‘taken out of context’? He clearly stated that he believes the 9-11 investigation is a cover-up. What did he mean by ‘cover-up’? Where is his evidence that there was a cover-up? Or was this just another one of his false accusations against America?
“Face it Iraq is a mess”
Iraq was a mess when Saddam butchered hundreds of thousands with impunity and blatently violated our cease fire agreement. Now it is a fledgling democracy that fights against Al Qaeda.
“I dont believe in resolutions that cite the UN as authority for our military actions. “
And Paul doesn’t even bother to study history. The cease fire agreement that ended the first gulf war was based upon Iraq’s compliance of the UNSC resolutions.
“People like Paul who are more afraid of the duly elected Govt of the US they they are of terrorists thugs who have the blood of thousands of Americans on their hands are NOT “protecting our civil liberties” but unwittingly aiding the terrorists.”
He’s right to be more afraid of Government than a ragtag band of Muslims, because Government’s influence can extend to every corner of our country.
How soon we forget history... Government is not reason. Government is not eloquence. It is force. And, like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.
- George Washington
Man is not free unless government is limited.
- Ronald Reagan
Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.
- Thomas Jefferson
The terrorists can kill many of our citizens but they can’t defeat us or what we stand for. If we lose control of our government on the other hand, we lose our freedoms and we lose everything.
It’s hardly a Conservative position to believe Government is always your best friend. The Democrat Party controls a large part of the government, would you then say the country has nothing to fear from the Democrat party? History has taught us that governments can and will betray their citizens if the people lose control.
Would you look at this Government which refuses to secure our borders, which refuses to stop illegal immigration, and conclude that we’re in control? I would say that we lost control years ago and it’s getting worse all the time. Ron Paul offers to bring control back to the people, I wont say he’s the only candidate who does, but he’s definitely one of them. He doesn’t deserve to be ridiculed by Conservatives for that position.
Hunter did proudly serve in Vietnam and said so. He is also on the Armed Services Committee. Can’t get any closer to the Generals than that!
Duncan Hunter was an Army Ranger in Vietnam...his father was a Marine in WWII and his son is a Marine in Iraq (2 tours) and Afghanistan (and running for his father’s congressional seat).
The terrorists chose Iraq to be the center front of the war on terror, and Saddam Hussein as I showed in the Iraqi documents that I translated has been training the "foreign muslim terrorists" since the year 2000 and these are the same "foreign terrorists" who now constitute the main force of terrorism in Iraq and has caused untold death and destruction on the Iraqi people and killed many of our troops.
Thanks the Lord that our President is a great leader who does not care about the public opinion but doing the right thing in leading our brave troops to destroy islamic terrorism in Iraq and elsewhere.
God bless President Bush and our brave troops.
We get a very small % of our oil from the Middle East.
The majority is from Mexico, South America, Canada,
Just like celebrities can get prescriptions in other names for privacy, I have no problem with public figures having there registration hidden or sent to a nonresidential address.
They were reaching to slap her. I think had she or her lawyer cooperated, it would have been trouble IMO.
They were smart to not cooperate.
2)The moment when the lightning struck while Rudy discussed abortion was also priceless.
***I didn’t catch that. I guess God was just clearing His throat a little.

....Remember the recation here on this forum when a Chinese company wanted to control part of the panama canal..There was a huge uproar...
.now imagine China building military bases all around the US ..
what would your reaction be?..(you would be upset..not suggesting you do anything violent)..
but militant Islam is nuts and if you combine the two(like the above example) it creates MORE radical insane terrorists..
common sense really
Hunter was in the Army during that war.
Duncan Hunter was an Army Ranger in Vietnam, Purple Heart, Bronze Star.
How about Mitt, Hmmmmmm
>I am furious that Fred Thompson is yacking away on Hannity & Colmes right now! What a coward!<
Oh, just lazy, as usual. He said he was going to run a different kind of campaign. Doesn’t it bother anyone that FDT is practically a daily regular on H&C - free of charge? The MSM is owned by the establishment, including Fox News. I do not savor Thompson’s record of his one and one half terms in the Senate. God help us if he gets the nomination.
