Jr's plane is about ready to leave for Florida.
For those of you who didn’t follow Big E ‘back in the day’, he liked to leave the track ASAP. Bill France, Jr reportedly told him he should stay around for interviews, etc., but nothing changed.
Well, one day Big E apparently wrecked late in the race and scooted to his airplane which by his orders was a non-smoking space. When he got to the plane, Mr France was sitting in the plane smoking. He told Big E to have a seat and started talking to him about how he could get home faster if he would just stick around for interviews. Apparently Mr France sat there talking for about an hour, smoking the whole time. Seems Big E had some choice words to say afterward but not to Mr France. Sounds just like Big E and Mr France. LOL

CO in the COT Car Sick
Posted Jun 7th 2007
It doesn’t seem that the problem of carbon monoxide (CO) exposure in the car of tomorrow gotten any better since the problem was exposed after the car’s debut in Bristol.
On Monday, David Stremme was forced to relinquish the wheel of his #40 Coors Light Dodge two thirds into the race because he was ill, complaining of headaches.
Stremme claimed to be suffering from a sore throat and flu-like symptoms since Friday, but upon evaluation in the infield care center his blood showed elevated levels of carbon monoxide.
What’s it gonna take to get safety-conscious NASCAR’s attention focused on this issue?

“Jr knows his fans love Bud and Bud is one of the best sponsors.”
I don’t know...it might be pretty interesting if Earnhart signs with Visa. It would be pretty interesting seeing all those fans tossing their credit cards on to the track every time Jeff Gordon wins a race.
I scored Harvick also but frankly I don’t care for him much. I remember Thirteen Joe calling him a hot head and it was words from my mouth.
We watched “Prelude to a Dream” and really enjoyed it. Flipper won, but the race to the flag between him, Shrub, and Flash, was exciting!
I also have new-found respect for Flash. He got into the car for the first time, and raced it like a pro. First-timers eSad and JPM were laughable.
I still hate Flash, but he really proved to me he is a supremely great race-driver.
If you don't see me tomorrow, the house blew away. The storms aren't here yet, but we've got a PDS tornado watch until midnight, and the line's been quite active out to the west.
LOL, that would be you!
:D
I just couldn’t resist!
Thought you might appreciate it...and maybe agree!
You scored as Kevin Harvick, You are Kevin Harvick. You are very chipper and happy. You have a great and very serious relationship with someone who is always there for you. However you shouldn't ignore or abuse what you have because it may not be their tomorrow. You aren't always that consistent you tend to like change. (You definitely should never tell a joke) You have alot of close friends who love you dearly.

Be careful there, I hope you have a basement in your new house.
We’ve had 4 tornado warnings here so far this year. Must be all that global warming from the hot air in Washington.

France memorialized in simple ceremony
Associated Press, Updated 11 minutes ago
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) - NASCAR stars paid respects to former chairman Bill France Jr. on Thursday in a short, simple funeral service that was far more fuss than he would have wanted.
About 2,000 people filled the Performing Arts Center at Bethune-Cookman University to say goodbye to France in a send-off for a man who loved hot dogs, fishing and, more than anything else, NASCAR.
“That’s enough - let’s go. You’re burning daylight,” Daytona Mayor Glenn Ritchey said as he wrapped up his remarks in a service that ran less than an hour. “That’s what he would probably say to us.”
France, who spent 31 years running NASCAR, died Monday at his home after nearly a decade of declining health.
“He was our mentor,” NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick said. “He was our leader. He was a great friend, and we’re all going to miss him. He was a bear of a man, but he really had a teddy bear of a heart.”
Richard Petty, Darrell Waltrip, Ned Jarrett, and Bobby and Donnie Allison were among the retired drivers on hand, while active stars Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jimmie Johnson, Dale Jarrett, Michael Waltrip and Kurt Busch joined the gathering.
Jeff Gordon, Carl Edwards and Bill Elliott, who all raced late into Wednesday night in a charity event in Ohio, trickled in right before the start.
France devoted his life to the family business, working at every level of the industry as he moved his way up from selling concessions and parking cars to running all of NASCAR. He replaced his father, NASCAR founder William Henry Getty France, in 1972 and pushed NASCAR beyond its small-time Southern roots into a nationwide billion-dollar conglomerate.
He was considered a benevolent dictator during his reign, and he ruled with an iron fist and a sharp tongue.
Hendrick opened his remarks by introducing himself as a a “fishing buddy of Bill France.” He recalled when he and driver Geoff Bodine were summoned to Daytona Beach headquarters to meet with Richard Childress and driver Dale Earnhardt because of run-ins Bodine and Earnhardt had on the track.
France made it clear that day that the drivers would learn to get along in a meeting that was immortalized on the big screen in “Days of Thunder.” Fred Thompson, the actor-politician, played a characterization of France in the movie.
“He told us ‘NASCAR’s been here a long time ... you’re not going to mess up the show,’ “ Hendrick said.
A video montage shown twice during the ceremony - at the opening and a second time as singer Edwin McCain performed his song “I’ll Be” - captured both France’s softer side and the rewards of his work.
I’m fine, had a day off and went a bit south to a nearby city shopping with my new neighbor who is a lot of fun.
She and I are so much alike we could be sisters. She has a lot of contacts in Dallas like some of the Hall Of Fame racing folks who used to be with the Cowboys.
Cool that you had fun shopping. Wish I had been there to go with you. Glad you have a neighbor that you have things in common with! That makes it even more fun!
