What a dilemma. Who’s side do you take? I know that there are lot of Stewart fans here and maybe even a few Busch the elder fans, but I don’t like either one of them all that much.
Pocono 500 - my second favorite race of the year (the first being Sirius at the Glen (formerly Bud at the Glen) - both tracks are a short trip (80 minutes or so) from Binghamton, NY, where I grew up, and my Dad used to take me to one or the other on rotating years.
I'm looking forward to the weekend. My sister and I planned the menu earlier this week. It will be ribs, beer, steak, beer, baked potatoes, beer. And jello shots.
My 20 year old nephew has to learn to drive a stick between now and Sunday so he can drive home.
We have to keep up with all the news in Nascar, silly season has started early...........therefore the threads are early as well.
Also, sometimes the thread host has to work or take care of family. It takes work and research to put this together.

As far as the rumor mill goes, here is the latest by those who have reported to be in the know. Posted in the order of those who think they know most. LOL
1. Hendrick
2. Gibbs
3. RCR
4. Ginn
5. JRM
They did say we’d know within the next few days or up to two weeks from now. Anyone know if there’s some type of deadline?
Well July is sort of a deadline for diecast cars, but another month wouldn’t hurt. Particularly for Dale Jr, they would move mountains to make his stuff of course, since he’s the biggest sales generator out there.
Kelley promised us we would know in June unless something delayed their decision. I feel they have already made the decision but are just dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s.
He’s been to the various other teams, he even said that himself. He was surprised that they have a lot of things DEI has but more they don’t have as well like the 7 post shaker we discussed the other day. Basically the reason he is leaving DEI is Teresa’s management style or lack thereof and non participation in the racing portion of the company. Plus, a lot of hard feelings built up for years.
The only one who has verbally said he hasn’t talked to Jr is Richard Childress??? And, today there was talk about him thinking about Biffle for 08. He does want a 4 car team. Gibbs does not, so if Jr goes there Yeley is out. If he goes to Hendrick and a lot of some who think they are in the know put that one first Shrub is out.
Visa is the sponsor interested in him. Jr has said he wants more time for himself and Budweiser has always made him do many many appearances AND more importantly they won’t let him run in the dirt cars and other racing stuff other drivers do. Mostly because of his fiery crash in the vette at Sonoma in 04.
So bottom line it’s a crap shoot of guessing games. :)
Because JR wants to go win championships, he has to step into a ride that already has top 35 owners points so he doesn’t have to race his way into every race. If this is the case, then somebody has got to lose their ride.
The whole thing is confusing to me. I know Jr would HATE for someone to lose their ride because of him. Also, if Gibbs would just decide on re-upping with Chevy that choice would be more viable. There are so many loose ends. It could be an obvious decision he’s made that I’m just not seeing. :)
Now if Hendrick could place Shrub with one of his Hendrick engine teams like Ginn that might make it easier. Of course that will just kill some Earnhardt fans to see him go to Hendrick. But if I could have cars like JJ’s every week, give them to me NOW!!
The merger with RCR and TEI engine dept is confusing to me also. That deal was on the table even before Jr left DEI. I am not sure Jr wants any part of TEI. And, considering the engine trouble Happy’s had off and on lately that may be a good decision.
I can’t see Ginn as an option because they are not winning, they have money but.....
RacingOne: If it were down to Ginn and Hendrick to sign Dale Jr. who do you think it would be?

But KB's deliberate actions were not only reckless, but bordered on the edge of the criminal insanity!
He needs to be severely sanctioned for this!
He should have been arrested!
