At 4’3” tall and 73 lbs., my little man has more guts than all three of these losers put together!

I’m thinking we should set the bar a bit higher. These 3 look like they came from the shallow end of the gene pool.

Sorry Valin, my reply in #35 was meant to be directed to you.

You should read the replies in the link I included, I think you might be impressed in the redstar’s opinion page this time.

"Be all you can be."

In that case, L is for Loser. That would be Leo, Leif, and Luke (not sure in what order).

Sounds like they enlisted under false pretenses in the first place.

Perhaps a little chlorine would help!

Is their middle name Lee? Or Gene?

I’ve run into people like this at work, the looks I get when I tell them ( rather forcefully) to get to work is...amazing. There was a guy last year (mid 20’s) and I don’t think anyone had ever yelled at him, or even raised their voice to him.

I asked the young lady managing the electronics department at Walmart why they are constantly hiring. The answer was pretty simple. People expect a paycheck just for showing up at work. When they find out that they actually have to work, they don't come back.

Under the new policy, the tatoos would have prevented them from being Marines.

Don’t laugh. My little brother enlisted in the Corps because he got tired of listening to mom give him grief over how he mowed the lawn.

He turned out as a solid Marine. Made rank to Sgt (E5). I enlisted before him and hated being outranked by little brother.

It sucked having to worry about getting written up for disrespect to an NCO when we would get into arguments when we were both home on leave at the same time.

They weren’t in the Army. Hell, they never even made it through basic training!

They were in the Army. They were National Guard on active duty for training. That's being in the Army. They incurred a 6 year commitment when they signed up, raised their right hand and swore to "support and defend", and to "obey orders", just as I did when I joined AFROTC, and enlisted in the AF Reserve. Before being commissioned as an O-1, I was first discharged as E-1. I think I've still got the orders.. somewhere.

And they’re not going to give you access to sophisticated weaponry either.

The US Army Training Centers (Basic and AIT) always shut down over the holidays.

I’m glad I’m not the only one, who was thinking that.

What a group of losers.

Its maddening to see traitors dishonor their uniform. After all, they VOLUNTEERED - they weren't drafted to perform military service. Those who sign up for it know the risks involved and the vast majority of them are a credit to our country.

Really? I am in the Navy and we just received a holiday routine for Christmas when I was in boot-camp. I remember hearing from the guys who went to A-school (on an AF base) before me that they had a week off for Christmas. WTF do you need one for when you’ve only been in for a few months?

I don’t believe it’s so much for the trainees. The cadre and committee group (those who run the ranges, etc.) need a break.

I can only speak for Ft. Knox, but I’m sure the other training centers did the same thing. I went through BCT in 61 and right into Armor AIT. The AIT cycle straddled the holidays. Ft Knox shut down for two weeks. It was the same policy when I commanded a BCT company in 73/74 at Knox. A company may graduate a cycle on a Friday and pick up a new cycle over the weekend. The holiday break just ensures people get a break.

I started Army Flight School in Nov65 at Ft. Wolters, Tx, and they did the same thing there. My class had one month of pre-flight before they shut the place down for the holidays.

One of my Sunday School kids went AWOL from the Marines last month. It seems the Corps will not allow him to smoke weed and cohabitate with his girlfriend. Imagine that.

I hope he knows he can do neither in Leavenworth either.
