Scarborough Attacks Fred's Wife (Joe insults Fred's wife)
Captain's Quarters ^ | 6/4/07 | Ed Morrissey

Posted on 06/04/2007 11:30:41 AM PDT by teddyballgame

Joe Scarborough offers his keen insight and classy analysis into today's political scene in an interview this morning with Congressional Quarterly's Craig Crawford. During the Morning Joe program on MS-NBC, Scarborough suggested that Fred Thompson's wife is a whore (via the Palmetto Scoop):

SCARBOROUGH: Have you seen Fred Thompson’s wife? CRAWFORD: Oh, yeah.

SCARBOROUGH: You think she thinks she works the pole?

CRAWFORD: That’s what a Hollywood career will do for you, I guess.

SCARBOROUGH: What do you mean?

CRAWFORD: You get wives like that.

SCARBOROUGH: I mean, look at that guy. God bless him, I love his voice. But I mean, you know. He ain’t Robert Redford in “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.”

CRAWFORD: Well I would like to see him back into politics because I think he’s a lousy actor.

It was annoying and adolescent, although I checked in to point out that nobody bothers to rate Fred T, or any other aging male, as a “1” or a “10”—

I recall studies having shown that the best predictor of a man’s success is the attractiveness of his wife. (Or perhaps it was the key factor in others’ presumptions about him.)

Having a gorgeous, smart wife is another factor in Fred’s favor!

Scarborough jumped the shark a long time ago. Can’t stand to watch the guy and this is a good illustraton why.

I agree. The whole deal with him leaving Congress...and the dead congressional aide...reeks.

And then he has the gall to challenge Fred Thompson on his sensibility?

Wow. The jealousy of the ladies on the forum is rather stunning imo.

Not jealous at all. I'm trying to help her.

Here is a clue for you Deb.

Keep it. You need it more than I do.

No need to reply. I can see where you're coming from so don't bother.

Since you don't know me, what I look like or my experiences, you should refrain from replying.

I think your “concerns” are misplaced.

I would be very glad to know that. I just think politics are dirtier than ever. You are right that some stories just don’t need to be mentioned. Laura’s story for one is definite. This one is just stupid if you ask me. A pole dancer? I think this most people won’t even know about except for people like us who really keep up on this type of stuff because of FREEPERS.

Scarbrain is a classless, crappy-headed ho that crawled out from some Florida swamp and hit it lucky.

He fits right in with the schlock company he works for.

Who listens to this grifter's show, anyhow?

Other swamp critters?

It's an amusing exchange--and the drooling of the hound dogs doesn't exactly make the case for taking J T seriously, nor does the accusation of "you're just jealous of the young blonde with the tanned knockers!" --

Basically, this is like a job interview before the American people.

You do realize that the photo in the blue dress was several years ago when she was PREGNANT, at what I understand was a Hollywood gala party and not interviewing for any job as First Lady?

Maybe you should hold off a bit, and see how she actually shows up for the interview.

Actually, that’s Craig Crawford. His “life-partner” is a K-Street lobbyist.

Now, please explain which voting bloc will be put off by her youth and beauty (not to mention the height difference), and will snicker and vote for someone else?

************

Good question. It's clear after reading some of these posts today that not everyone should vote. Imnho, of course.

Successful older men tend to like the younger ladies, and I can see how that would bother older women a lot.

Well, since the Democrats already have a lock on the votes of insecure single women, I don’t think Fred has much to worry about.

Obviously, from their responses, they don’t take his wife very seriously. Doesn’t take much testing of the waters to find the staple in the bellybutton.

I’m not “defending” anyone, just making a statement. The picture was likely taken in the past two years, but Fred wasn’t a candidate then. I’m sure she will tone down her hot look. The campaign consultants will see to that. I just think it is premature to start riduculing her already, since Fred just filed on Friday.

I think I heard she is 4 yrs younger than his youngest daughter.

And your problem with that is? Does a man have to be married to Harriet Nelson to qualify for the White House? (That would be Ozzie Nelson's wife for you young whippersnappers)

The Hildabeast is getting a lot of speech coaching these days. I noticed she has stopped saying “ya know...ya know...ya know...” every three seconds. I wonder what behavioral technique was used to accomplish that.

Maybe the speech therapist/behavioralist showed her a photo of The Bent One every time she said “ya know...”

I think you're on to something. Now all they have to do is work on that voice. What to do, what to do? Maybe a picture of a rolled up carpet?

will be a common point raised for Fred thompson. When you look like him, and have a wife that lookes like her, these comments will be repeated over and over.

But never a word like that about Dennis Kucinich's wife...

And considering she is one herself, I think she won’t need to be told the bleedin obvious.

Now, can anyone come up with a photo of Mrs. Thompson from 2007 where she looks anything but appropriately dressed?

(Two reasons: One, it proves my point that she does not lack judgment regarding the appropriate attire for a candidate’s wife and will not be a liability, and: Two, she is lovely, and a delight to behold.)

I think that’s the case. The guys here are more concerned about her physical attributes and her right to display them than her intellectual abilities.

Where those 1 - 10 rankings dealing with her professional achievements? LOL And WE’RE the ones obsessed with her looks!
