I think you’re right. Who knows what he had stashed at his house down there.

He will STILL hold on to his office, his committees, his seat in Congress....

It's only Republicans who have a House caucus rule that indicted leaders must step down from posts. It's also interesting to note that when Republicans tried to change their caucus rule to protect Tom DeLay from Ronnie Earle, Democrats cried foul so loudly that the Republicans eventually caved, resulting in DeLay stepping down from his leadership role.

It's amazing that Republicans didn't even have the guts to manage their OWN rules their own way. Let's see what the Democrats now do about Jefferson, and how the Republicans react to them.

"I really thought he’d get away with it"

He may still. Indictment doesn't equal conviction, and if he's tried in La. or D.C., he may just walk free.

Uh no, he won’t be resigning, nor will the “leadership” of the democrap party ask him to.

Nothing in their party’s bylaws or rules of governance says that Jefferson should even consider doing so, especially at the indictment stage.

Consider the long tenure of Senator “I-Let-A-Woman-Drown-In-My-Car-And-Got-Off-Scott-Free” Kennedy. (Although he was never indicted or even accused of anything near what was called for)

It’s official, he’s indicted but of course the media won’t put it breaking because he’s black and a democrat.

Just reported on Fox News the FBI has videotape of Jefferson receiving bribes, not a bribe, on tape. He is toast because he will be tried in Virginia and not Louisiana.

I specifically remember that one of the main items being removed from his home was the freezer, odd considering that most people would want to take more valuable items other than a freezer. He had everything the Guard removed shipped to his D.C. office and that was where it was found. Why would he want a full-size freezer in his office?

From Rep.Jefferson’s House bio... as of this minute ...

“U.S. Representative William Jennings Jefferson is now serving is eighth term as a Member of the United States House of Representatives. Representing the 2nd District of Louisiana since 1991, he is the first African-American to be elected to Congress in Louisiana since Reconstruction. Jefferson is an active and senior member of the powerful Ways and Means Committee and its subcommittee on Trade. He is also a member of the House Committee on the Budget. He serves as Co-Chair of the Africa Trade and Investment Caucus as well as the Congressional Caucuses on Brazil and Nigeria. I hope all these credentials don’t last much longer.

DFU SONG: Cold as Ice (yes, Democrat William Jefferson's hundreds are cold as ice)
DFU SONGS | 5-2006 | Lyrics, Doug from Upland

Posted on 05/22/2006 9:04:35 AM PDT by doug from upland

MIDI - COLD AS ICE (Foreigner)

This bill's cold as ice...my boss says it won't suffice, no sir
This isn't very nice...he'll make me pay the price, no sir

I've not had a hundred that would ever snap
So Congressman Jefferson what is this crap
I bring pizza hot...right here to your door
I live off my tips...what are you doing this for?

This bill's cold as ice...my boss says it won't suffice, no sir
This isn't very nice...he'll make me pay the price, no sir

I don't understand dishonest Democrats
We search for corruption...that is where you're always at
One day a rich drunk drives off of a bridge
Now you hide your bribe money right there in your fridge

Cold as ice...it's freezing my hand
Cold as ice

This hundred is cold as ice
This hundred is cold as ice
This hundred is cod as ice
