As a late entry into the crowded, expensive, presidential campaign, Fred Thompson's first big test of viability will be his ability to raise money quickly.
A major part of the former Tennessee senator's strategy is a heavy reliance on the Internet to get his message out and to raise funds. He is also trying to tap into the large number of well-heeled Republican financiers who have yet to commit to a 2008 hopeful, amid widespread disaffection among party loyalists with the current field.

Yes, and I'm sure we'll get the ping from politicalmom or jellybean a few microseconds after the address is made public. They are fast!!!
Come on, Fred, credit card is at the ready. Checks are too slow.

I woke up this morning with two thoughts on my mind...
1. A-Rod broke my heart with that home run
:: spits ::
and
2. I can contribute to Fred's campaign today! Not a whole lot, but every bit and every donor helps.
To: period end of story
*snort* The minute Fred announces, his campaign is going to be floating in small denomination checks from folks who have been sitting out here not liking the major candidates much, and seeing in Fred all that is missing in the others. The buzz from those folks will help bring in many more small donations.
He doesn't have to worry about the big money, it will be there for him.

My check book is here and my pen at the ready
I think that we should make some designation that these donations come from FReepers 4 FRed ... Jim Robinson should be heard as a force to be reckoned with amongst the conservative faithful

That’s a horrible website. Fred won an award for the best Senatorial website, for cripe’s sake. I hope they fix that.
And no Paypal donations?

I don’t think that’s the official website. There’s no disclaimer at the bottom saying something like: Paid for by the friendsoffredthompson.org blah, blah, blah...

It may not be ready for prime time but it works. I typed in the URL as a guess and got a JavaScript error stating “Access Denied”. Maybe you could e-mail them some of your fine graphics.

Its interesting to watch political pundits try to apply ‘normal’ political acts to this very new scenario.
Thompson doesn’t have to hurry. The DNC and the RNC have made a big mistake starting this stuff way way too early.
I find it hilarious that some so called ‘experts’ are saying ‘if Thompson doesn’t hurry, the money will be gone’....ROTFLMAO!
Riiiight. So then, does that mean in the final stages of any of the past six Presidential elections there has been a ‘shortage’ of money?
Of course not.
The talking heads are demonstraing why they are just ‘talking heads’ folks.

So I clicked on the link..... and saw a bunch of filler “ad by Google.” Including a McCain campaign advert. LOL. There’s some room for improvement, I think.
