I think Fred Thompson will eclipse the greatest President in my lifetime.

“And Mr Sabato sounds a note of caution in relation to his political message. “The voters don’t know him, 95% have no clue who he is other than in his Hollywood role.”

That does have some truth to it, my dad who doesn’t always follow politics, and hates watching the news, lately he told my mom (who is the polar opposite of my dad, and actually follows politics), that he was a Romney supporter. However today he was visiting my house and he flipped on my tv and Fox News was on, and they were doing a story on Fred, and my dad said, “Who the heck is Fred Thompson?” so I had to tell him :).

Re: your tagline

You sound as if you've been extremely unlucky in the men you've met.

I don't think Fred is as across-the-board conservative as Reagan was, but IMHO he is way better in that regard than any of the 3 pygmies who currently lead the GOP field in the polls. He voted conservative on most isues in the Senate, but he voted for a few things that I'm pretty sure that RR would have opposed.

His vote record on the major hot-button issues was conservative except for his aye vote on McCain-Feingold which he now says he regrets. But that isn't quite good enough for me. Any Senator who respects the Constitution should have known better than to vote for that abomination. Still, he is the only candidate with a real chance of winning the nomination and possibly the general election who has enough conservative credentials to get my vote.

Hunter would be a more conservative president IMHO and I would gladly vote for him if I thought he could win, but his chances of winning in '08 are somewhere between zip and nada. I would say put him in the 2nd spot on the '08 ticket with whoever is nominated, and he would soon have the necessary name/face recognition to run at the top of the ticket in another 4 or 8 years.

No, I’ve just noticed that men are now shorter than women and that in the movies Rambo-women now save the men. Also, have you noticed that men are hugging and kissing each other in greeting and women no longer do that? Something’s going on...

Let’s mark this for future reference.

So, are you a cancer specialist or not?

QUOTE; It's not a job for a man with cancer. The stress ages the healthy ones beyond reason.

By that quote I would assume that you're a Cancer Specialist
and not just a person who has seen one on TV.

Why would you mark your own words without qualifying your own statement?

"Potentially people are more familiar with him but there's an over-estimation of how much fame Law & Order has brought him," he says. "It's not as if the Republicans are running Brad Pitt."

Good thing, too. I hear Brad has a bit of a B.O. problem.

The cancer Fred is being treated for is the least aggressive and most easily controlled with medication of any type of cancer. His doctors say that it is in remission and would not have any ill affect on his ability to perform the duties of a president. Any man over 60 is in more danger of dying in office than a younger president such as Clinton was, but that isn't a valid reason to deny him that office when there is a capable VP to back him up.

The chances of Pelosi succeeding Fred if he died in office are so slim that the matter is among the least of my concerns about a Thompson presidency. If the cancer were to come out of remission during his first term he would probably decline to run for another term, so again, a younger conservative such as Hunter would be the ideal VP for a Thompson administration.

Angie Harmon's a Republican. I think she left Law and Order a couple years before Fred joined the cast, but hey...

You may well be correct. However, for what it's worth, you have my personal guaranty that, not on my worst day, I've ever kissed a man, ''in greeting'' or in any other fashion or for any other reason.

BTW, I don't know how to become ''shorter than women''. I'm the same 5'10'' I've always been for decades. Now, with that in mind, I shouldn't doubt at all that the assorted ''feminists'' wouldn't prefer to chop me off at the knees.

Naturally, I shall try to prevent this as best I can, which, just FYI, is really quite effectively.

Best regards to you, and my apologies for my original misestimation.

I’m guessing donna’s tagline is about younger men being subservient and meterosexual touchy feely types who got femininzed by strident mommies or schools etc in their upbringing....too much soccer too..lol

if that is what she meant...I wholeheartedly agree

Why's that? Can you elaborate?
