INHOFE INTRODUCES IMMIGRATION BILL
Sen James Inhofe Website ^ | 2 May 2007 | Sen James Inhofe

May 2, 2007

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) today once again introduced his immigration legislation aimed at addressing the ever-increasing influx of illegal immigrants to the United States and its strain on society. Inhofe’s ENFORCE - Engaging the Nation to Fight for Our Right to Control Entry -Act (S.1269) increases U.S. border security, emphasizes greater enforcement of existing immigration laws and prevents amnesty and other shortcuts for illegal immigrants.

“Illegal immigrants continue to cross our country’s borders, strain our economy and exploit our resources,” Inhofe said. “The gravity of this situation warrants that Americans of all political stripes come together to address this problem immediately. I will not stand idly by and watch our great nation collapse under the pressures of uncontrolled illegal immigration; this is a crisis and one that must be addressed aggressively.

“Simply granting citizenship to immigrants, who are currently in our country illegally, is not the answer. We must enhance our border security, hold those accountable who encourage illegal immigration and ensure that those who violate our laws by entering our country illegally do not have this illegal activity easily forgiven and even rewarded with permanent residence or citizenship. Our nation’s future rests on Congress’ actions of today, and the ENFORCE Act is a strong step in the right direction to help solve our growing problem of illegal immigration.”

Major Provisions in Inhofe’s ENFORCE Act:

· Establishes the National Border Neighborhood Watch (NBNW) Program allowing retired law enforcement officers to assist Border Patrol agents by reporting illegal border crossings.
· Makes unlawful-presence in the United States a felony.
· Establishes an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) office in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
· Authorizes funding for online immigration training for state and local law enforcement officers.
· Eliminates the practice of granting automatic U.S. citizenship to children born to illegal immigrants in an effort to reduce ‘anchor babies.’
· Establishes an independent verification system for Social Security numbers; also mandates that immigrant’s Social Security numbers expire when visa runs out.
· Establishes electronic birth & death registries to fight fraudulent Social Security cards
· Helps reduce Individual Taxpayer Identification Number abuse.
· Empowers state & local law enforcement to carryout immigration laws (but does not make it mandatory).
· Establishes penalties for most flagrant employer tax violations—i.e. if an employer willfully files incorrect tax returns, they will be assessed the maximum penalties available.
· Makes it illegal to operate day laborer centers for illegal aliens and to give them unemployment assistance.
· Eliminates in-state tuition benefits for illegal aliens.

One element of the bill will, I believe, require an Amendment to the Constitution.

That makes me want to throw up! GA Senators just dropped on my scale. You won’t see that out of Inhofe and Coburn. Every day I Thank God they are my two Senators — am so proud of the way they stand up!

That is why I have signed onto the Senate campaign for Inhofe in addition to one other campaign. Our Senate seat is one of the most important for all of us there is. We have to keep Jim in the Senate!

I am back and will concentrate on all of us returning Jim Inhofe to the Senate and electing our nominee in the general election for President.

Because of a conflict of interest, I will not post on any Republican Presidential threads. So happy to be able to post for my wonderful Senator on here. You all have always been kind to the Senator and he can really use your help!

I will post on the DemocRAT nominee threads with a passion though.

Lindsey “the punk” Graham and Queeg McCain asked for an alternative and here it is. Now they can put their money where their big mouths are.

As far as my understanding goes, this sounds excellent to me. It sure beats Bushes’ clap trap. Lets round em up and head em out. Won’t take a few days, or months or years but it CAN be done if we can just find some more men with character to implement it. That will be harder than the doin’.

Probably not. But it won’t hurt when we contact senators to ask why they haven’t considered Inhofe’s GOOD bill instead of the dog they’re throwing at us.

Since you asked, here it is!

I was never banned or threatened with banning — it was a rumor that was started and I am pretty sure I know which group started it. I never asked to banned either. I posted a thread I shouldn’t have at the request of someone and asked for it to be nuked last night after I was baited by one of the cabal. I already talked to Jim before I came back yesterday. Funny how rumors get started and reported.

To set the record straight, I was banned by another site yesterday for daring to question management and what the site turned into after what was promised in the beginning. Have gone back and forth with Jim over the years and was never threatened with banning.

Really missed you guys and told Jim I will not be posting on primary Presidential threads or starting any for Republicans. I have a conflict of interest in what I am doing outside this site.

We all make mistakes and I am willing to admit I made a mistake and should not have followed along and believed some of the stories being circulated by people I thought I could trust. I should have stayed here as it turned out and by now I wouldn’t be posting on Republican Presidential threads anyway due to a conflict.

Might want to ask who leaked to the Observer about this site or to Dem sites to make FR look bad because in doing a check late last night there are not that many who were banned that were Rudy supporters but some from other campaigns. Makes no sense to me.

You will find me taking after the Dem candidates and touting Senator Inhofe for reelection with a vengence.

I missed my Oklahoma friends a lot especially OK Sooner!

GA Senators just dropped on my scale.

Saxby Chambliss is the surprise. I've always thought he was a good Senator I could count on. Isakson is and always has been a go-along-to-get-along professional politician.

In 2004, Club for Growth identified Coburn and Herman Cain as the two Senate candidates to support. Isakson, who has been in politics in Georgia since 1978 and has plenty of name recognition across the state, killed Cain and Max Collins in the primary (3-way race, no runoff).

That election continues to be a sore spot for me (if you can't tell).

I think Isakson posed for those pictures with Kennedy for the sole purpose of rubbing it in my face ... LOL!

Include building the fence, and I am sure Duncan Hunter would be the first Congressman to sign on to Inhofe’s bill.
If he see this through, Senator Inhofe definitely has a future.

I doubt it but bet a lot of us would be behind it all across the County and it might just knock that 1,000 page monstrosity off the radar.

I am writing my Congressional delegation to thank Jim Inhofe and to urge them all to support this Inhofe bill.

McCain and Graham are first on my list to send a copy of this bill and ask for their support of the Inhofe bill. I say my chance of hearing back is slim to none! They asked and they shall receive! :)

Bet we could pass it in enough states. OK just passed the most comprehensive bill of any State to date so I am sure we could get this through in a lot of states.

I would add:

1. Mandatory photo id and proof of citizenship to vote, get any welfare, government benefits, aid, worker's comp, farm aid, student aid, etc.

2. Mandatory photo id and proof of citizenship to receive medical care at any emergency room, unless it is a serious medical emergency, and in that case, as soon as the patient is recovered enough to travel, insta-deport.
