And why would that be “better”?
Now you're talkin'
Then we can start rounding up the illegals and send them home.
Then we can enforce the EXISTING laws.
No new legislation needed.
Howzat?
There is nothing “better” about that.
Enforce existing LAWS by:
1. Go into public schools and requiring citizenship by parents.
2. Require proof of citizenship for renting, or owning property. If no proof exists for ownership then give them 30 days to sell it and leave or auction it off and deduct the cost of deportation from the proceeds.
3. Fine an employer 25K or 50K per illegal hired and deport them.
4. Remove the law of being “born” here and citizenship. Deport the entire family.
5. AS they are deported, like any other criminal, take a DNA sample, picture and put them in a federal criminal database.
6. NO, aboslutely NO benefits to illegals wihtout proof of citizenship.
They’ll leave on their own. There will be NO incentive to stay.
There is NO NEED to reward criminals, those the break the law with the very thing they want - citizenship.
Enforce EXISTING LAWS NOW, before we wind up like a third world country speaking Spanish.

One more thing have a fence and a HUGE border patrol. Shoot on sight of anyone trying to cross over or under the fence bordering Mexico and Canada.
Yes, but there is no way that is going to happen unless our politicians and government officials have the will to do it. In fact, they seem to have the opposite inclination.
Unfortunately, I cannot tell you how that might be accomplished without breaking the posting rules of Free Republic. Maybe I should just post a link:
Hannity & Colmes Guest Says Military Coup "May Be The Only Thing That Can Save This Country"
You people are dreaming. Actually Alex, your proposal ain’t bad, but I’ll bet anyone 1000 dollars that this country will never, EVER, enforce these laws with any kind of mass deportation. It simply will not be done, EVER. Any kind of remedy, no matter how correct, that includes this provision will NEVER, EVER be implemented. So we need something that will WORK, given the realities we face. We have to stop allowing the Perfect to be the enemy of the Good.

Re. Thomas Sowell’s comments on a military coup.
There is NO reason to put up with this stuff.
Flood you self representing representatives THAT message.
Tell them you will NOT vote for them again and vote in others that WILL represent you.
If you don’t do this, we will become a third world country where there is NO RESPECT for reasonable laws - become a citizen the LEGAL way.
Hannity is nothing more than an empty headed, apologetic buffoon.
FR was always a place of down to Earth realists and now we have a whole bunch of Really Great Dreamers - what a change.
In order for this to happen somebody has to vote for said politicians.
To a Dung beetle a pile of Dung is beautiful. So the beetle would like your pile.
Who pays their hospital bills and what do you do about the thousands of twelve year old dropping their kids everywhere. Who pays to educate their kids. Etc, etc.
[And why would that be better?]
1. It just accepts and improves the status quo (which is quite satisfactory in my view) without any far reaching changes because it is Mexican-nationals-only thing and 1/3 of able bodied Mexicans is already here).
2. It does not force Mexicans down the road to the citizenship unless those that explicitly want it.
3. It is way-way-way less disruptive than either proposed reform or forced deportation of 12 mln (armed) people or having 12 mln illegals in the country.
Simple is simple.
No, we’re not a bunch of New Agers. It is YOU who is the “dreamer”. Perhaps John Lennon’s song “Imagine” is your life theme?
The facts are that even the ILLEGALS don’t want this. They want citizenship NOW. They aren’t coming here for the right reasons. They’re milking the cow at your expense. We now have more diseases here. 25% of our prisons are filled with violent ILLEGALS. For every dollar they declare - which most DON'T, taxpayers kick in $3.00. Our hospitals are shutting down because of ILLEGAL nonpayment. Our public schools are flooded with them and still they refuse to learn English. 60% of ILLEGALS drop out of high school. THIS is not what we need. No back ground checks are done. They are taking jobs AMERCIANS that are LEGAL want - landscaping, painting, building. They are putting AMERICANS out of work - those that work.
No, this is not what America is about nor do I want to live ina country where the rule of law is INFLUENCED by NUMBERS. NUMBERS determining what the rule of law is this month - that is chaos.
Isn’t it funny how they “know” how many illegals are here.
For all we know, it’s 5M or 2M. If they can determine a number, they can deport them.
Illegal immigrants do not follow existing laws, what make you think they will follow any new laws? You are the one dreaming.
You are a Really Great Dreamer - don’t be shy about it.
