Interesting and informative, to be sure, but not definitive.
It is disappointing that the author did not peruse school textbooks to determine what is actually being taught to youth - something his gracious hosts may have been reluctant to tell him.
Ditto for daily TV news broadcasts.

A long but fairly interesting piece. As for the recognition part, they still haven't fully recognized Israel's (political Israel) existence and right to existence.
And as for the anti-Semite moniker, Arabs are Semites, as are some Jews, and even Ashkenazi Jews tend to have some Semitic blood, even if it is very little (akin to how many Americans have Amerindian blood, but it is very little).
People can be racist toward their own people group (race).

I lived for several years in Kuwait and for a short period in Riyadh in the 90s. This author’s reflections are very evocative of that time and largely mirror my own experiences there. Thanks for posting this thoughtful article.
