Ron Paul Nearly Doubles Donations Since Butting Heads with Rudy Giuliani

Monroe, Ga. 5/31/2007 3:09 PM GMT (FINDITT)

The general feeling after the Republican Presidential debate held in South Carolina on May 15 was that Rudy Giuliani got the better of Texas Republican Ron Paul but according to Paul backers the congressman has seen his donations nearly double since challenging Giuliani on the U.S. involvement in Iraq.

During the debate Paul was asked whether a Republican could stay true to their party and support a measure to bring American troops home at the same time. In response Paul remarked “I think the party has lost its way, because the conservative wing of the Republican Party always advocated a non-interventionist foreign policy. Senator Robert Taft didn’t even want to be in NATO. George Bush won the election in the year 2000 campaigning on a humble foreign policy - no nation-building, no policing of the world.”

SNEAK PREVIEWS

JULY 2007

Coming soon: At third GOP presidential debate, Ron Paul goes on an 18 minute rant, during which time he declares the entire U.S. Consitution itself to be "unconstituional", demands the legalization of crack cocaine, and vows to lock all Americans who ever supported "unconsitutional wars". Ron Paul roundly booed by every Republican in audience and receives 0.0000000000000002% of the weighted vote in the straw poll by the Iowa GOP hosting the event.

(Shortly aftewards, an online "poll" shows 135% of votes nationwide support Paul for President).

When is Dr. Paul going to realize that American politics is nothing more than a TV show? Does he really believe anyone is still interested in the constitution or rule of law? What a freaking nutcase! He needs to go away so we can get back to business as usual.

Hmmm... I don’t think I will post it.

I sure don’t want to risk a ZOT over someone I don’t even support. That would add insult to injury.

I am pro-Jewish. I see them as my brothers and I reject David Icke. But 80% of Alex Jones is on point.

Ron Paul bump and yes the one line attacks with no basis are rampant. Guess it’s upsetting that Paul is the only one out of the lot that actually knows what the Constitution says and follows it to the letter.

Senator Robert Taft also believed that it was wrong to put Goering and Goebbels on trial.”

Actually, what he believed is that any precedent that sets up a court that could in theory be used against Americans is unconstitutional on its face. As a matter of constitutional principle, he was (and remains) very obviously right. He also believed that any sort of world court action including Nuremberg would do little to deter future conflicts. He was obviously right about that as well (though there were other reasons to prosecute, it’s just that one of the articulated ones was bogus). He also questioned whether a fair trial could be given to those prosecuted by the victors. That seems to be obviously, true, also. Why should we pretend that something which should essentially be a military action is a judicial one? We are just pretending, then, and that makes a mockery of our constitutional system. I think at the end of the day, Taft would have gladly supported summary execution in the field of Goering and Goebbels and others rather than putting them on trial.

That is hardly a nutball opinion.

Your name calling of a great conservative reveals who is the nutball. And it ain’t Senator Taft.

I wish he STAYED away from that. Plus I see the Hebrew people as my brothers. I like Alex Jones because he takes hard about the new world order/the beast in revelation.

But 80% of Alex Jones is on point.

The problem with your statement is that the basis for Alex Jones' theories is that he believes there is a world Jewish conspiracy to control through banking.. everything else seems to stem from that, from his theories on 9/11 and the government/Jewish banks being behind it, to the 'prison planet' theory that a cabal of elites want to enslave the world and are secretly building concentration camps as we speak...

You may like that he is anti-government/anti-establishment, but what is the foundation for his anti-government standpoints?

I'm not saying you believe this, but you said something I've caught from a lot of conspiracy sites. You specifically used the term Hebrew people.. This is something that a lot of people like Alex Jones and David Icke have used to differentiate what they call 'European Jews' who they claim are part of the conspiracy from the historical Jewish people of Israel, of which, Christ was one. Again, I'm not saying this is part of your beliefs, but it is a constant I've noticed with many of these shows...

Why does JimRob block Rudy supporters but not Dog Paul* ones - who could do a lot more damage in 2008?

Because Ron Paul and his handful of supporters are not going to do any damage, but Rudy would destroy the Republican Party. The Paul people are just comic relief.

I am glad the investment in the SC debate paid off for the campaign, despite the disproportiately small amount of time he had to speak.

Thanks for the flag, billbears.

No need to be.. you know the whole thing about watching for Wolf’s in Sheep’s Clothing.. IMHO, a lot of folks like Alex Jones are like that.. They say a lot of things like appealing to pure constitutionalism, Christian principles, limited government, etc.. but their underlying motives aren’t always pure. They use these principles to plant other seeds. Think about the 20% you don’t like from Jones.. Think about how those things are part of his core beliefs.. he may have a whitewashed building on top of the foundation, but is that a building with the principles you trust...

I have similar feelings about Ron Paul (albeit, I wouldn’t go so far as to compare all his beliefs to Alex Jones..) Besides some big differences in some economic principles of his (such as going back to the Gold Standard), you have to wonder what his core beliefs are if he believes that the US is somehow partially behind 9/11 or even somehow responsible. I don’t think he believes in the ‘Jewish conspiracy’ like Jones and his ilk, but he has stated before he believes in the ‘military/industrial complex’ being behind all the wars.. etc...
