There has been a sharp decline in contributions from RNC phone solicitations, another fired staffer said, reporting that many former donors flatly refuse to give more money to the national party if Mr. Bush and the Senate Republicans insist on supporting what these angry contributors call "amnesty" for illegal aliens. There are numerous penalties for illegal immigration on the books now, for both the aliens themselves, and those who aid or employ them. So, trot out the Tony Snow spin and call it a different way of looking at things until you're blue in the face, but it's still untrue. I say YES to enforcement of the laws on the books and NO to rewarding border-jumping scofflaws.

Not really. If we manage to get some good people into power in 2008 without passing this garbage first, those people will be able to use the existing law to take action against the illegals. While it's true that nobody's taking much action against illegals now, as long as this garbage doesn't pass the possibility will remain open of that changing in future.

Once this garbage passes, however, it will be much, much harder (and in many cases impossible) to do anything about this invasion.

I am really pi$$ed at GW Bush. His daughters don't have to worry about illegals leering at them, making comments, or invading their personal space. The Secret Service guard his kids 24 / 7.

My pretty teen age daughters have story after story of these illegals harassing them - and we don't have that luxury. Like you said - the police cannot do anything until someone is either assaulted, raped or beaten.
