RNC Fires Phone Solicitors [former donors outraged over amnesty]

There has been a sharp decline in contributions from RNC phone solicitations, another fired staffer said, reporting that many former donors flatly refuse to give more money to the national party if Mr. Bush and the Senate Republicans insist on supporting what these angry contributors call "amnesty" for illegal aliens. "Everyone donor in 50 states we reached has been angry, especially in the last month and a half, and for 99 percent of them immigration is the No. 1 issue," said the former employee.

"..contracted the work out to illegals-he admitted it"

I seem to remember that there is (or was) a requirement for employers to verify the citizenship status of any new propective employee.

But even if these folks are not employees, but "sub-contractors", how can the prime contractor deduct the cost of their contract (legally)?

It seems as if they would have to get the labor so cheap, they could literally afford to absorb the tax loss and still make a profit.

Or they are not paying taxes.

And did you know that the IRS performs audits of firms like that at no extra charge to you, the taxpayer?

Not that I would ever suggest turning them in, I'm just sayin'.

I’m starting to think that the Tin Foil Crowd and their NWO Conspiracy Theory may be on to something....

The media is saying that the majority of Americans are supporting Amnesty....when I know that is not true.

Past Immigration Law has not been enforced....why? As a set up for what this bill would do????

I smell a rat and its behind a curtain of smoke and mirrors.

Not a bad idea. I would bet that these workers were paid under the table-most are. Thanks!

Until I see Tancredo in the lettuce field, I remain skeptical

So as another poster pointed out, you really are an enabler of poor policy that has brought over 12 million illegals to our country. I think you are closer to being a hillorat than you think. Too bad.

Will the illegal aliens build the convention dais if Americans won’t do it???? (Americans are being pushed out of construction related jobs. It’s not about picking lettuce).

According to the article, "They claim the reasons they were given were an estimated 40 percent plunge in small-donor contributions, as well as aging phone-bank equipment the RNC said would cost too much to modernize." They're either going to get outsourced, or the RNC is going to rely on large corporate contributions exclusively.

I understand why people think Clinton is looking good-I kind of think that also. He was unprincipled, but would yield if enough voters yelled and screamed. After the Hillary care disaster, he never stuck his neck out for Dem programs-he signed welfare reform etc.

Clinton would never have allowed the Dem Party to be destroyed over an immigration bill because the next campaign began the day after the election was held. Pres. Bush on the other hand is principled. I believe that he genuinely believes this bill is a good thing and has always been in favor of amnesty. He certainly never hid his views. It appears no amount of political pressure will be enough to get him to kill this bill.

I was one of those angry ex-donors. Got a phone call from the National RNC and told them exactly why I was not donating.

Also happened to receive a letter from the RNC right about when this hit the fan, asking for money. On the contribution letter, I indicated in the "Other AMount" column, "$0.00", and exactly why the RNC would not receive any more money from my family. Nice of them to include the postage paid envelope, too!

GWB has always claimed he opposes "amnesty." I suspect that most of us who have supported him and voted for him had no idea he would refuse to enforce our immigration laws and defend our country from invasion.

I, for one, actually believed he would take his oath of office seriously. Turns out he's a globalist with no interest in preserving our nation for our children and grandchildren. We bought a big lie.

Hi! The new thread was killed as a dupe so I'm responding on this thread to your post #5:
...said the severance pay the RNC agreed to pay him was contingent on his not criticizing the national committee.

Ah, the RNC has forsaken the Freedom of Speech as well!

Did you notice this part in the article?

"We write these comments up from each call, and give them to a supervisor who passes them on to the finance director or the national chairman," he said. "But when I talked with the White House, the people there told me they got nothing but positive comments on the president's immigration stand."
Apparently there is a filtering system, as well.

I can assure you that they are lying. I personally called, sent an email and sent a fax to give them an ear full of negative comments. LOL!

The last call I got was about a week ago.....My immediate reaction was the same as it has been for 2 years...no...hell no, and adios MF....and please pass my message to the President.

As I hung up...I could still hear the poor telephone bank worker begging me to listen to the Republican excuses.....

It's truly sad.....sad that Bush is lying to us all, he is just not as good at it as Clinton was....

Seems like I am watching a very sad reality show or an episode of 24... Can we trust any politician?

So should I now start referring to the White House as liars?
This angers me beyond belief. I never knew I could get this angry. I’m looking for some prozac as we speak.
