There has been a sharp decline in contributions from RNC phone solicitations, another fired staffer said, reporting that many former donors flatly refuse to give more money to the national party if Mr. Bush and the Senate Republicans insist on supporting what these angry contributors call "amnesty" for illegal aliens. "Everyone donor in 50 states we reached has been angry, especially in the last month and a half, and for 99 percent of them immigration is the No. 1 issue," said the former employee.

Not to my knowledge. You could always get a shoebox full of gravel and send it that way.
Semper Fi back at you
;-)
Actually he does not live far from a real trailer park. But he has tight security around his compound, insuring the other of the two Americas, doesn't cross over....
Were you an adult during the Carter years?
The Rats are against everything conservatives are for, why in the world would we want them in power? That makes no sense at all.
Appreciate and agree with your sentiment.
Sometimes I try to read posts too fast....like trying to bag flies....it's difficult.
FRegards,
Some observations: Sending solicitation letters back with large screeds of anger gets us nothing because the party never sees those letters. All solicitation work is farmed out.
Second: The GOP counts on big business donations. The small donations are not critical to them. On the illegal issue they will try to make big business happy. We don't matter.
Third: My personal opinion is that G. Bush has always had a plan in his head to "capture" the hispanic vote for the GOP. He sees amnesty as a way of doing that. He has blinders on concerning the Mexicans. He has only had positive experiences with elite Mexicans and non with the peons. He is out of touch with reality on this. That is why he is so angry at the conservative base. He sees us as interfering with his efforts to get a large hispanic GOP voter pool.
JMHO which may not be worth much.
Play to win, it`s the only way. But that means you have to stick around and stay in the game. That`s my point.
Well, lameduck Bush sure isn’t just sitting on his record. He’s working hard to set up a Repub disaster in 2008.
Only Repubs who stand a chance will be those who run away from Bush, fast & far.
” If Hugh Hewitt is against it, you know it has to be bad. Remember, he supported the Presidents decision to nominate Harriet Miers. “
Good point, elizabetty. Except for the actual Pols, and their staffers and appointees, everyone is holding their nose on this one. I think even the staffers are just supporting it because it’s their job. The problem for the staffers is, a lot of them probably won’t have a job after the next election unless they switch sides.
This is the scary part. The Bush administration actually think they will harvest Republican votes from the illegals, whereas we all know the Dims will get them. Probably for a very long time to come, giving the Dims the muscle to pass all kinds of damaging legislation.
I exaggerate not. Imagine Democrat office holders as far as the eye can see, giving us same day registration, registration by mail, poll-watching police that will turn away Republican voters, incredibly high taxes, no guns, no free speech and no more Free Republic.
WRITE! WRITE! WRITE! WRITE! TILL YOU RUN OUT OF INK IN YOUR PEN!
Bombard the Democrats as well, especially the ones that ran on an anti illegal immigration plank and the ones in marginal districts who could be vulnerable. keep pounding on them. This is a bipartisan issue not a Conservative or Liberal issue BUT AN AMERICAN issue.
No, we don`t have any illegals here in Houston after the Tancredo bill passed
Moved to OK about 9 years ago......One of the best things I ever did.
FRegards,
Today I went out to my SUV and scraped my W-04 oval bumper sticker, stuck it on a big piece of cardstock that I had printed NO AMNESTY! and some pointed, rude remarks about his snide comments yesterday, put a big red circle with a slash over the formerly proudly worn sticker, brought it first to the photocopier and then to the PO.
Bah Humbug. If this passes, the USA may as well have the big red circle with the slash as it will no longer exist as we know it.
The best thing is, my teenage son has been following politics with me the past few years and he couldn’t wait to make a clean sweep of the sticker residue and help with the computer fonts. He is livid.
When he talks to his high school friends, who all profess themselves to be “liberal,” he asks them to please stop him when they disagree as he educates them on what are conservative points...no one has yet. I have told him of Winston Churchill’s quote: “If you’re not a liberal at twenty you have no heart, if you’re not a conservative at forty you have no brain.” And that at least makes them feel a little better.
The Winston Churchill quote I sent W: Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.
And my personal comment at the end was: “...and the wisdom to know the difference.”
Funny post. Unfortunately after reading it I asked myself if the RNC might actually be dumb enough to solicit campaign funds using callers in Bangalore or Hyderabad.
I hope my answer is wrong.
Switch sides?
Like Bush already has?
Well, neverhillorat, I guess we’ll never see eye-to-eye on this issue. I’ll suck it up and go along for a lot of things, but not the current illegal immigration bill.
If this bill passes there will be nuclear consequences for the conservative movement in this country. The demographic issue alone will put Democrats in the majority for two generations.
There will be no more game to stay in if this bill is passed. Sure, the GOP could move further to the left to try to remain competitive, but that’s the end of the game for me. The GOP is already a lot farther to the left than I want them. Like I said before, I’m a Conservative, not a Republican.
Thanks for the link-I am listening to this clip right now and Laura Ingraham is doing quite a verbal “smackdown” job on our so-called Frat-Boy President. As far as donations, I will ONLY donate to individual Republicans such as John Linder and any other Republicans that reflect more of my views and I would gladly donate to other GOPers such as Sen. Sessions, Sen. DeMint who are opposing this sham of an amnesty bill. The party as a whole is represented by sordid leadership at the top and unfortunately, the occupier of the White House is fast gaining on Former Pres. Carter as the WORST President ever. I would be happy to see someone like Ron Paul, Mike Huckabee, Duncan Hunter or Tom Tancredo in ‘08, but the way the GOP is rigged, their chances are very slim.
LOL. Probably from having to deal with you on top of the actual problem we're facing.
