There has been a sharp decline in contributions from RNC phone solicitations, another fired staffer said, reporting that many former donors flatly refuse to give more money to the national party if Mr. Bush and the Senate Republicans insist on supporting what these angry contributors call "amnesty" for illegal aliens. "Everyone donor in 50 states we reached has been angry, especially in the last month and a half, and for 99 percent of them immigration is the No. 1 issue," said the former employee.

now that’s a plan.
The RCN has been awfully quiet on this issue, at least via email. On every major policy initiative the RNC usually send over more than a few emails explaining reasons to support whatever is on the table. Has anyone gotten anything on the immigration legislation? I’ve seen nothing....
You are SO right!! Compromise is NO virtue!
That is a fantastic idea! Viva Bush! Here’s my peso. Don’t spend it all in one district.
Did they expect everyone just to sit back, and toss more money at the GOP, while the country goes belly up?
Do they really think we're all this stupid?
In a word, YES.
They were clearly wrong.
Gop blog? The only thing new on there is the Democratic debates. They have their heads so far down in the sand hole they don’t know which way is up.
Duuuugh... Amnesty for 20+ million BRAND NEW voting democrats..
Will spell the demise of the republican party till Cinco De Mayo of ... of well.. well... well for the forseeable future..
If Pesos are hard to come by mail Pinto Beans.
Yes they were.
The key question is will the come to that realization?
DOUBTFUL
Parties go through change, and have done so. I have no doubt in the future the GOP will be back to its normal self. That doesn’t excuse this current liberalism.
“We just have to grow-up and realize we are going to have to accept some form of amnesty”
So, do the American citizens who’ve been charged with identity theft, tax evasion, driving without insurance, registration, or a license have some form of amnesty coming down the pipe, as well?
This has nothing to do with ‘growing up’, and for you to be so patronizing shows the exact same contempt for legal immigrants and citizens that our politicians hold. Not even the LEGAL immigrants agree with amnesty...
Just curious as to where you live, and whether you’ve ever dealth with the problems illegal immigration brings to a community first hand... The majority of these people are not about to line up to pay taxes. I know because I’ve lived among them, and worked with their LEGAL counterparts who are just as ticked off as any of us on this thread who realize the dangers inherent in this bill. Do you really think granting amnesty to those who disobey the law to begin with is going to lessen the problems we have with their disregard for our society?
I could go on & on, but it would seem that you’ve already made up your mind to sell out our country...
I have to say it makes me sad to read this....but we are doing the same thing. We had such hopes....
True enough, hosepipe. Although I think that after the extended families are allowed in the number is closer to 40 million. Of course, a lot of them will be underage (I wonder if that’ll stop them from voting) or in prison.
>There is only one conclusion:
>The GOP is dead and waste of time.
I wonder if you are right. - If they even care at all, but I’m just not understanding their unblinking refusal to prepare for conflict, rather than try to profit from rolling over and selling us out with breathtaking alacrity.
Prepare indeed. - your tag line applies.
There’s a space a bit further down and I told them how I felt.
NEVER HAD AN ENGLISH SPEAKING APPLICANT
My father in law had the same problem with his 5 restaurants in the Stillwater Oklahoma area. Finally, after 3 years he raised his offer to the prevailing wage and quit telling people they would get 40 hours and then cutting them to 20. He started getting applicants.
Amazing.
