I’ve been telling them since 2001, not another dime until the borders are closed.

the ‘no postage required’ envelope.

Better yet, tape it to a brick and send it back. They have to pay for postage.

I hate to say "I told you so," but I never trusted his judgement on the Middle East in the first place.

I took a lot of grief for it here, but by the time 2008 rolls around I suspect there's a good chance Osama bin Laden will have a higher popularity rating among Republicans than George W. Bush.

“People will sit home or support 3rd Party candidates.”

The RNC need not worry about lowly grassroot voters like us staying home.

They are under the misconception that for every one of us who stays home, they will pick up three (Formily illegal Voters).

The RNC wouldn't fire the phoners because of issue-driven discontent. That's nothing new. It comes and goes. The fundraisers, both mail and phone, just plug along. The attitude is, correctly, "This too shall pass."

I buy the part about antiquated equipment. The RNC has always split its phoning between the in-house operation and outside vendors. Probably the in-house staff was not measuring up. Bad equipment will do that. The question is, does the business warrant a major reinvestment to retool. Apparently the current finance director thinks not.

Another factor, however, is changing technology. More and more people are giving up land lines or doing call screening. It's been awhile since I've chatted with anyone in the business but my impression is that contact rates are way down. That will affect how you structure your phone operation. If you outsource it, you can pay straight commission so it doesn't cost anything if results are poor.

One of the reasons that illegals are still a big problem is that our side doesn`t realize that not all Americans agree with us. There are major portions of the country that don`t think we should kick them out.

A. I don't know of anyone calling to "kick them out". Big difference between a mass deportation and amnesty.

B. Huge majorities of BOTH RATS and the GOP want the borders secure and no amnesty, upwards of 70% of those polled.

Good observation, sphinx. When the RNC Spokeswoman says one thing and the fired phone solicitors say another, it’s not always easy to tell where the truth lies.

But I thought it was an interesting article, worth discussion.

res. Bush waving goodbye to the GOP, his credibility on border security, and his loyal conservative base.

It may be possible to turn him around, but it would entail moving his ranch down next to the border; and taking away the Secret Service.

‘All the mail from RNC has been going in the trash here for over two years.’

As others have said, I too, have told RNC telemarketers that I will give no more money until the Senate begins to place the interests of the country before their own selfish agendas.

And, since the RNC encloses a postage paid envelope with their fund raising letters, I also return the letter with comments similar to above....of course, w/o $$.

I’ve done this for a while and hasn’t seemed to matter. Maybe, now, that many people are no longer donating, they’ll pay attention.

Actually, they’re talking about two different things. The phoners are talking about small-donor contributions, or more precisely, contributions that were raised via phone bank. Big-money people aren’t solicited, or don’t give, via phone bank. Total contributions may be holding up, due to big-business people. And maybe that’s all the RNC “suits” care about. But they should be alarmed by the drop in small donations, and candid enough to admit it. You can’t solve a problem unless you acknowledge it.

They think it’s a problem with the solicitors.

If that were the case, they wouldn't need to put out a laughable story about their "outdated phone equipment" being the cause of the firings.

I’m sure they need better technology, but they also need to hire people who care about the party — Republicans — as phoners. This is not the kind of thing that can be outsourced. It’s important for the donor to have a positive experience with the call, feel the phoner “gets it,” etc. This isn’t just about money; it’s also about party building. Admittedly, the latter concept may be too sophisticated for the RNC “suits,” who probably understand business better than politics.

The dems hate the bill too, but they think it is too hard on illegals.
