It should be noted that the pilot rode the stricken fighter in as far as possible before ejecting, thereby saving people on the ground.

This area is about 25 miles from me and 5-6 miles south of one of our concrete plants. Landed in a bean field well away from any homes.

Glad the ground-pounders were safe, but realistically, there ain’t much on the ground out there to hit.

Good also to see the pilot was able to walk out - too often the bailout injuries are pretty serious.
