A man with a form of tuberculosis so dangerous he is under the first U.S. government-ordered quarantine since 1963 told a newspaper he took one trans-Atlantic flight for his wedding and honeymoon and another because he feared for his life.

‘The unidentified patient ‘

Why is this 2007 version of Typhoid Mary granted anonymity?

Wouldn’t it be a good idea to quarantine his new bride for a few weeks as well?

This idiot was told not to travel in Europe and yet he took flights anyway to Canada then drove across the border into the U.S. so he could get married. Way to go! A public stoning sounds about right!

"I think they’re still figuring out how he’s going to get here," said hospital spokesman William Allstetter.

Coffin? Urn? Why are they moving him, what is the risk assessment madness in that? Oh, unlimited tax dollar budget.

This fellow might live long enough to see the massive number of civil suits he's brought on himself.

Imagine a few infected jihadis and the havoc they could cause if they decided to try such a thing...

Is this person a US citizen? If not, why are we paying for all this treatment and transportation for him - why not just deport him? Just asking.

Wonder what they’re doing with the XDR TB infected illegals coming across the southern border?

Was his name Mohammed or Abdul by chance? There is the possibility of terrorists sending their diseased within our borders.

I hope he doesn’t make it. We don’t need more of this guy’s genes in the pool. The selfishness here is beyond comprehension. If you could crawl inside this guys head you’d see it’s all about “me” and money. He didn’t want to cancel his wedding plans last minute and lose his money; since the costs of treating this can reach $1.2M he was getting home regardless of the risk to others so he could get his treatment for free. Just a pathetic piece of crap human being.

I'm not worried, the folks at National Jewish know how to handle this stuff.

The person who ought to be worried is this turd's new bride. Sheesh.

"TB infected man coming to Denver ( from Atlanta's CDC )"

Yes, good. Put him in a crossroads for the country, centrally located.

Great plan for getting this stubborn pandemic thing rolling.

Couldn't git er done with SARS or Bird Flu, maybe TB is the ticket this time.

On May 25, the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) was notified by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) about a US citizen, recently diagnosed with extensively drug-resistant tuberculosis (XDR-TB), who arrived in Montreal on a flight from Prague, Czech Republic, and then drove to the US via the Champlain, New York, border crossing.

The individual is now in contact with CDC officials and is in a U.S. hospital undergoing further evaluation.

From the CDC press release he didn't do anything illegal, but certainly did something immoral.
http://www.cdc.gov/od/oc/media/transcripts/t070529.htm
Also, he was smear negative, which means he is much less likely to transmit TB than if he was smear positive (17% of TB infections are from smear negative patients).

I wonder about what we are being fed as news, sometimes. Is this some sort of a setup for down the road?

Note to self: Replenish tinfoil supply.

Thanks
