Affleck: Clean-cut Romney GOP pick in ‘08
Boston herald ^ | 5/30/07 | gayle fee

Posted on 05/30/2007 6:37:22 AM PDT by finnman69

“Gone, Baby, Gone” director Ben Affleck, who tried mightily - but unsuccessfully - to get Sen. John Kerry elected to the White House, said he expects ex-Gov. Mitt Romney to be the Republican nominee in 2008.

Chatting about the upcoming presidential race on the season finale of “Real Time with Bill Maher,” the Cambridge homey said he thinks the GOP will end up with Romney because the ex-gov looks good, has nice hair - and the Republicans really don’t have anyone else.

“He says he doesn’t like abortion and he’s all clean-cut and he looks like a Ken doll,” said Affleck who was doing a rather amusing imitation of our ex-gov during the Romney rant.

“The Mormonism thing is really suspect,” he added, “but they’ll take it at this point. I mean, who else do they have? Crazy (Rudy) Giuliani and (John) McCain who’s completely insane? They don’t have any other options.”

Affleck is not denigrating all Mormons. He is denigrating all Republicans, who he says denigrate all Mormons.

But that’s OK, because it is acceptable to be prejudiced against Republicans.

Affleck is probably more conservative than Romney.

Ben Ass-flack, the guy they showed a few years ago had never voted in his life, and he`s about 30 years old. Yeah Ben, when it comes to politics, STFU.

"AFLAC...AFLAC!"

“he’s all clean-cut and he looks like a Ken doll”

That might be enough for Dems. I don’t think it will work with conservatives.

I just have two questions.

1. Why would anyone watch Bill Maher’s show on HBO in the first place?

2. Why would anyone care what this brain dead loser thinks about anything?

imagine the outcry if Gary Sinise was on the show and he said “hussien obama’s muslim and madrassa schooling is really suspect”

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I heard Affleck once saying that when Bush called N. Korea part of the axis of evil that it made N. Korea more "eviler." But I digress. Indeed quantum mechanics has been set back decades with the loss of Affleck.

This is the collective knowledge, intellect and political wisdom of most self proclaimed hollywood political experts.

“He looks pretty, therefore he will be elected.”

I am thinking about putting Ben on my black list. This is an exclusive list and Tom Cruise actually worked himself off of it when he moved from weird and influential to irrelevant and generally accepted wackjob. Thoughts?

Listening to Ben Affleck preach about GOP candidates on the Bill Maher hatefest makes Rosie O'Donnells rants on 9/11 conspiracies seem lucid.

I have never seen anything but clips of either. But I don't think you are giving Rosie enough credit. She is a much crazier phycho nutcase than Ben. Ben just seems to be the typical self absorbed, ignoramus commonly found in the liberal elitist Hollywood social bubble. He knows more words than some of his brethren so they ask him his thoughts about politics on TV. He feels important by this and is compelled to move his mouth and make noise in an attempt to procure more adoration from his bubblemates in Hollywood. This is just my opinion. I invite you to read my tagline.

My favorite Ben Affleck moment:

When he joined the NESN(?) broadcast booth for part of a Sox game a few years back, and commented that Lou Merloni owed his career to being friends with Nomar.

I'm not certain if he realized the irony.
