Author arrives today amid tight security Calls Islamic culture 'backward' Under 24-hour guard since 2004
A VISIT to Sydney by a controversial Somali writer who calls the prophet Mohammed a pedophile and says Islam is inferior to Western culture has outraged Muslims, who accuse her of inciting hatred.
Ayaan Hirsi Ali will arrive in Sydney today amid tight security normally reserved for foreign dignitaries or royalty.
Her writings and talks focus on what she calls the backwardness of Islamic culture and the persecution of Muslim women.
The Somali-born Muslim - who fled to The Netherlands, became a Dutch citizen and renounced her religion - has been under 24-hour guard since the murder of film-maker Theo van Gogh in November 2004 by a Muslim extremist in Amsterdam.
Van Gogh's film Submission, which examined the oppression of Muslim women, was written by Hirsi Ali. His killer, Mohammed Bouyeri, left a five-page death threat addressed to her, pinned to the filmmaker's chest.
However, University of Technology Sydney Islamic law lecturer Jamila Hussain said Hirsi Ali's ideas were extreme and stigmatised Muslims.
"I think she'd be better staying where she came from," Ms Hussain said. "I've read enough of her thoughts. It's a narrow and radical opinion, and I don't agree with it. She's obviously had some dreadful experiences, but they're not typical."
In her writings, Hirsi Ali describes being circumcised as a young girl and how she escaped an arranged marriage.
Nada Roude, of the NSW Islamic Council, said Hirsi Ali's comments on the prophet Mohammed were a "no-go zone".

The problem is that, according to the basic Muslim sources, the Prophet Mohammed WAS a pedophile.
Also he was a murderer, a rapist, a slaver, a lying oath breaker, and a man of tyrannical violence.
Those are the facts. And a further fact is that Muslims declare that this conduct of Mohammed’s was admirable and should be imitated by his followers.
They don't just declare it admirable, they imitate and emulate the behavior daily. They just don't want their real behavior publicized. It might frighten their targets out of complacency. It's easier to ambush those who aren't prepared and vigilant.
Facts are irrelevant to people one step beyond savages.
What is harder to comprehend and grasp is Westerners who are intellectually unequiped to realize that their delusional assumption that muslims are "just like us" and enjoy the same logic we do is ---well, wrong.
They point out that his child bride WAS married to him and as his wife she was certainly “fair game” for sexual pleasures.
They also point that Mohammed waited TWO WHOLE YEARS after their marriage (when she was aged 6) before consumating the marriage. They say this shows he exercised restraint.
In the modern era, I’ve seen at least one fatwa on Ask the Imam say that a child bride can get out of a marriage (she has the decision) when she reaches puberty. But there are also fatwas from the Imam saying that just because she hasn’t reached puberty doesn’t mean that a husband cannot sleep with her.
And I have not seen any such fatwas against young slaves. If you have a slave (seized in jihad and apportioned in Islamic territory) then she is yours to do with as you wish (they even defend the practice of having sex with a slave saying, she is like your wife and this is how you show her you love her).
It is the sick cult of a dead warlord.
Will we have to deal with this with the followers of Charles Manson (Manson Family) or Sonny Barger (Hell’s Angels) centuries later? “It’s called, the good life!”
Has there ever been a time when muslimes weren’t “outraged” about something or other?
Sure, they weren't outraged on Sept. 11, 2001. They all seemed quite pleased. I will be pleased to see the cult of death wiped off the face of the earth.

That's putting it mildly. I remember the video clips of them gleefully dancing in Gaza shooting off rifles.
This is proof that Islamists are incompatible with free Western Civilization. You can criticize Christianity here. You can’t criticize Islam in Muslim nations.
