Then again, you may be right in one sense. There is the fact that a lot of leftist actually believe that people are causing the world to heat up. If you hold leftist views and you see that the weather patterns this year aren’t exactly like the weather patterns last year you need some explanation. If you truly believe that there is no God and that mankind is the center of all things then mankind must be causing climate change. The alternative is that THEY have no control over the way the climate changes and this, to their narcissistic minds, is truly frightening.

Climate Change/Carbon Offsets is pure Capitalism. They have created a Need based product to sell to the world market. Once they pull off changing the laws to require this product be sold to everyone eventually, they will have more money than any single nation. The only thing standing in their way is their own greed once the money starts pouring in.

BINGO! Except it goes even further than that. Eradicating capitalism is only the first step. After that (or maybe before) the Kyoto treaty is ratified in full and we go bankrupt to pay for the global cleanup. This will of course require the USA just hand over the keys to the UN. The next is a fav of ALGORE if you read his book from the last decade wherein he advocates eradicating the internal combustion engine and then he wants to move the entire population of the midwest to the coastal cities. This is of course to return the land raped by farmers to the pristine serenity of a Bambi environment. Of course eliminating vehicles means no more sporting purposes for firearms (can't get to the hunting areas which will be off limits soon anyway...besides the UN hates 'em anyway) so all rifles instantly become sniper rifles....say buh-BYE to the 2nd Amendment.
