The bill now before the Senate would destroy the Republican Party. But its also the largest welfare for Mexico scheme ever considered by Congress - which will put American taxpayers on the hook far into the future.

Politicians don't care what you think, but the RNC cares about fundraising. If they ask you for money, print this and stick it in the envelope:

And draw a red circle around the “ATTN:RNC.”

"The costs of the Senate immigration bill are mind-boggling, and the Senate has made no attempt to estimate or figure out how to pay them. The Heritage Foundation's Robert Rector puts a potential price tag on this bill of $2.5 trillion, which is five times the cost of the Iraq war."

Bump!

They'll raise taxes on us and our children. That's how much Congresscritters care for our country's future. Mexico gets better treatment under this bill than America! Why do we have to take of them when there are unmet needs here at home? Its a very good question.

Perhaps we should offer to annex the entire country of Mexico. 20% of them are here already.

"Section 413 calls on Congress to "accelerate the implementation" of the Security and Prosperity Partnership "

We all know it's the underpinnings of NAU.

Its just as well since the politicians have repealed the border between the US and Mexico.

We have hit the wall. Now what? When our own sell us out in the name of multi-culturism, what have we left?

Yep. And we're told its a myth. If it was a myth, the Senate wouldn't be giving away the country and subsidizing Mexico out of the American people's wallets.

It reminds of Ben Franklin: "If you have a Republic to keep."

The name “Schlafly” in the title is misspelled.

One of my favorite Founders.

When all else fails, we have the Jeffersonian ‘reset button’.

More commonly known as the 2nd Amendment to the United States Constitution.

Actually, it should be titled the "Bankrupt the American Taxpayer Act" given the cost of this boondoggle.

Sorry. If FR had an edit button, I could correct the mistake quickly. I hope the mods will give us an edit button to correct posts on the fly after the fact in the next upgrade of the forum software.

Yeah. Its welfare for a foreign country. Welfare for our citizens was bad enough but welfare for Mexicans? Something is wrong with the way those who represent us take care of the people's business.

June 26-29, 2007: Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, George W. Bush, and Mexican President Felipe Calderon will meet in Kananaski, Alberta for the planned third summit of the Security and Prosperity Partnership.

The President has made eight trips to Latin America and almost doubled U.S. foreign assistance to the region.

“And, by the end of this year (2005) we will have invested almost $25 million in Centers of Excellence for Teacher Training in the Caribbean, Central America, and South America that help educate those who might otherwise be locked out of the new jobs that come with new growth.”

In March we joined with Mexico and Canada to pursue what some might regard as impossible: making the most dynamic economic relationship on the planet even better for all of us in North America. Under the unprecedented trilateral Security and Prosperity Partnership, or SPP, we will implement common border security, enhance critical infrastructure protection, implement a common approach to emergency response, improve aviation and maritime security, combat transnational threats, enhance intelligence cooperation, and work to ensure the smooth flow of people and commerce across our shared borders.

Our policies have not merely tended to our largest partners. President Bush conceived of a plan that would reward the best performers among our poorest neighbors. Three of the countries most in need of direct assistance, Honduras, Nicaragua and Bolivia, have been brought in the Millennium Challenge Account process and will be begin to receive some of the $5 billion proposed by President Bush through FY 2006 to help countries whose governments are adopting sound strategies overcome the key obstacles to development that they have identified for themselves. I want to stress that the activities I have mentioned are only examples of the sorts of things we are doing to contribute to the well-being of the Western Hemisphere — our own neighborhood.” - SPEECH BY ROGER NORIEGA
U.S. ASSISTANT SECRETARY OF STATE FOR WHA

Yep, I used to write to President Bush almost daily about this, but other than a canned acknowlegement of my email, I never got a response. I thought he was interested in the peons at first, but now it seems the only peons he likes are Mexican Nationals living in the USA. Disillusioning to say the least.
Even my Liberal Congress Woman sent me a letter, but from GW nothing but a Christmas Card thanking me for my money.
