Yeah they do. My brother hunts them on the big island of Hawaii and 500+ #’s is pretty routine. A good hunting dog is essential to keeping yourself in one piece though. He’s never been able to persuade me to go with him. I’m not getting any faster with age, so it’s likely I never will. Up close, the things are not exactly a treat for the nose either, and the meat is really gamey on the bigger ones.

No. I shot .44 mag at ages younger than that.

Besides, when you are shooting at something this big, recoil is irrelevant. Adrenaline is the best compensator!
