LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas: Somewhere in the United States, Andrew Golden will likely step outside of prison Friday for the first time as a free man since being arrested as an 11-year-old after he and another boy killed four classmates and an English teacher at a school. Golden, the younger of two boys who used deer rifles to kill five people at the Jonesboro Westside Middle School in 1998, turns 21 Friday.

Gonna keep my mouth shut on this one, wait and see. It is most likely that someone has been patiently waiting for the day!
Hanging is to good for him.
Well, OK - you kill 5 people and get 10 years in prison. Doing the math, uhhhh, that’s like 2 years/person. Rising inflation continues to devalue life I suppose...
“Hanging is to good for him.”
Yes I am all for hanging 11 year olds. What could be more Christian than that.
Oh, Happy Birthday, hope someone gives him a nice shot of brandy when he turns 21, just before they give him a nice shot.
Dead is dead. There are juvenile jihadists too.
I guess they shouldn’t be judged too harshly, they don’t realize the gravity of their actions.
Should the police use guarded restraint in subduing an 11 year old school shooter? Should SWAT refrain from using deadly force in such a scenario?
At what age is deadly force appropriate?
“Golden would leave prison with a clean record “
WTF. Kill 5 people and still have a clean record? If I miss a single credit card payment it’ll mark me for life.
If this was some sort of an accidental shooting, then perhaps. But no, this individual deliberately chose to load up a rifle and shoot 5 people to death. If they have the frame of mine to be able to load up the gun and shoot people, then they are more than qualified to be subjected to the death penalty for their actions. Of course, that can't happen now since SCOTUS thinks the death penalty is out of style.
There’s no telling what this kid learned in prison. If he’s the average con, they often come out of prison to commit even worse crimes. Let’s hope this isn’t case with this guy.
Yep, juvenile records are expunged.
‘Cause giving him a second chance is more important that anything else, or some such rot.
If you can’t distinguish between the use of deadly force in exigent circumstances and hanging a person then I am not sure I can have a reasoned dialog with you.
So you’d be comfortable with him as a neighbor?
Adult Crime should get adult time (or other punishment).
The level of planning that went into this terrorist action (that is exactly what school shootings are about) was not the action of a typical 11 year-old. It was the calculated actions of a MURDERER.
And because this monster was charged as a juvenile, guess what...
The day he walks out of incarceration, his record is completely wiped clean. He could legally walk into any gun store and LEGALLY purchase a handgun, rifle, ammo, etc. While there are folks who have never committed any serious crime who do not have that “right”.
The families of the victims are still living with the crime...yet this monster walks away Scott-free without so much as a criminal record.
Maybe the VP will take him hunting.
*** Golden, the younger of two boys who used deer rifles to kill five people at the Jonesboro Westside Middle School in 1998, turns 21 Friday.****
And the older boy has already been released and, last I heard, was living in Fayetteville, Ark. with another boy who murdered his father with a crossbow.
They have already been in trouble with the law since their release.
How old were his victims? One should not "coddle evil" one should eradicate it if one wishes to deter such behavior from others in the future. Evil has no age limit in either direction. The merciful thing to do in this situation would have been a swift and painless death for the pint sized perp.
Today we adulterate children and then excuse their evil.
God has set the standard and the penalties for violating those standards. Christ came, not to change the law, but fulfill it. What could be more Christian.
