McCain responds to Obama in tough enough, if predictable, language:
"While Senator Obama's two years in the U.S. Senate certainly entitle him to vote against funding our troops, my service and experience combined with conversations with military leaders on the ground in Iraq lead me to believe that we must give this new strategy a chance to succeed because the consequences of failure would be catastrophic to our nation's security."
But, McCain being McCain, he can't help himself and goes the next step in the statement's kicker:
"By the way, Senator Obama, it's a 'flak' jacket, not a 'flack' jacket."
Which is to say, "there is only one of us in this argument who has ever worn the uniform." (my words)
And if you still don't get it, a McCain aide blows away the anthill with, well, a rocket.
"Obama wouldn't know the difference between an RPG and a bong."

Your statement is only true because Obama never did anything before the Senate, either.
But I don’t believe that a requisite goverment experience is required to run.
BJ’s from interns in unpresidnetial. This is politics.
Great quote.
Flier defense cannon.
Hey, but what do I care, the guy isn't my candidate!
I agree there. Resume touting is lame, a la John Kerry.
Greatness speaks for itself and should not need promotion.
It’s a true statement by McCain, but if he had his ethics in one hand and warm crap in the other hand, he wouldn’t know which is in which hand. McCain is barely qualified to take out my garbage.
flack is an alternate spelling, according to the on-air person on MSNBC just now.
If they are on MSNBC, they wouldn’t know a dictionary from a joint wrapper.
I’ve never seen it spelled “flack.” But if the news media agrees on an alternative incorrect spelling of a German word then who are we to disagree?
McCain is doing what I would have liked to see Bush do. Fight those b*stards, fire with fire.
I am not a McCain supporter but he gets it right this time.
GO JOHNNY!
It’s going to be a clinton/”oh,mama” ticket so he’s missing the whole target
Racist!
Disclaimer: I'm not and never have been a McCain supporter.
Still, I think McCain is as fine a supporter of the trrops and their mission, wherever they may be, as exists in DC. McCain has actually earned my praise on that. For that reason alone, if by some miracle he gets the GOP nod, he will still get my efforts toward election.
Regarding quotes on military missions, I have some favorites of all time and not McCains.
When Admiral Halsey was taking the Enterprise back to Pearl Harbor after the Day of Infamy he commented that, "When this is over, the only place the Japanese language will be spoken is in hell."
When Lee atatcked Grant in the Wilderness, many aides on Grant's staff that had been part of the Eastern war effort up to that time went to Grant and begged him to withdraw before Lee destroyed the Union army's ability to withdraw on their trains. Grant replied, "When this is over, if I am driven from this line, it will only be when we have so few men left, that they won't want any trains."
Great quotes are grand, great military quotes are the best of the best.
If they are on MSNBC, they wouldn't know a dictionary from a joint wrapper.

B.S. but no surprise, MSNBC has his back, LOL.
Really? Look it up on your Word Perfect/Oxford Univ Press dictionary. "(also flack)"
Best McCain quote was his comment on Chelsea Clinton.
I don’t care much for him either but this was an outstanding quote.
“McCain: “Obama wouldn’t know the difference between an RPG and a bong.”
Nice line John, still never going to vote for ya!
Maybe Obama meant to say crack jacket.
I suspect that Senator Obama knows very well what is a "bong".
