Yesterday, Rosie's chief writer, Janette Barber, was allegedly escorted from the building after she was caught drawing moustaches on photographs of Hasselbeck that hang in the "View" studios.
The Post's Adam Buckman reports ABC confirmed in a statement only that "photographs at 'The View's' offices were defaced. Rosie O'Donnell was not in the building. ABC Legal and Human Resources are investigating the matter." Barber is an old friend of O'Donnell who worked with her years ago on "The Rosie O'Donnell Show."
There were also rumors O'Donnell was so angry after her argument with Hasselbeck that she trashed her dressing room, although ABC denied the tantrum.
As for O'Donnell, she's been posting comments on her personal Web site, rosie.com, fueling speculation she might not return to "The View" ever again. Her scheduled last day is Wednesday, June 20.
When one fan wrote, "Work isn't worth that battle," Rosie replied, "Agreed." Another wrote, "Please walk away. It's not worth it." Rosie replied, "Well, you know when it's time to go."
To a fan who asked when she would return, O'Donnell answered, "No idea."
Yesterday, O'Donnell posted a video that may have symbolized how she's feeling about "The View."
The tape consisted of ducks swimming in a pond accompanied by an audio track of the John Mayer song "Vultures," whose lyrics include "How will I hold my head to keep from going under?"
Officially, "The View" expects O'Donnell to return to work on Tuesday.

You know, my wife used to watch her old . show pretty regularly. From what I saw, it was the usual daytime soft-headed tripe that women watch when they are home nursing a baby. My question is: when did Rosie become so mean? Ellen came out and is still funny. Rosie comes out and her personality changes to where she’s not even pleasant, much less funny. I think she truly hates herself and anyone who appears to be normal...maybe she just hates those she envies.

Yeah I agree Rosie’s got some real issues. She trashed her dressing room after the argument - which doesn’t surprise me a bit. Then one of her equally challenged interlopers stoops to drawing moustaches on Elisabeth’s photo’s.
There’s a whole lot of similar folks out there that are feeding off it as well. I think alot of the BDS crowd is just a big 12 step program waiting to happen.
Thin perhaps, but she is a very fit lady. She hasn’t just starved herself to anorexic levels.
Captain of her college softball team at BC for two seasons, and she did quite well on ‘Survivor’. There’s a smart, tough lady under all that beauty.
Nothing wrong with being a healthy and fit thin, but I tend to agree I think she looks better with a few extra pounds. Especially in the places she’s wearing it.

I watched it, but I didn’t hear anything Joy said.

I had much the same experience with a lefty ex-girlfriend. She’d drop snide little comments about conservatives, and I’d just let them go. One day I had had enough, and challenged her with facts like you did. She immediately broke into tears, whining “Everyone’s against me!”. Savage has one thing right - liberalism IS a mental illness!

- Today’s news has it that O’Donnell has decided to quit the TV show effectively immediately rather than the previously announced June 30. I take this to mean that she is closer to the edge than previously suspected and she has probably done so on the advice of her shrink.

Okay folks, I’m sitting here in England and watching “Talk Soup” on E and laughing my effing ass off at their take on this whole thing! I can’t talk to Brits about it, as they are clueless as to who Rosie is (Thank God, ignorance is bliss at times)! I just came from my “local” pub, where a fight broke out between Labour and Tory fellows, both who are friends of mine, however for how much longer I’m not sure, as I was in absolute shock over how a political “discussion” turned into a testosterone head-butting fist fight! I was shocked, as that NEVER happpens in pubs in America, especially after a Cricket match...:-)
Didn’t I read that she hangs upside down for 30 minutes a day on the advice of her shrink? Maybe 30 minutes isn’t long enough, now that’s she’s jobless she can hang upside down longer.
Well, you are right, Rosie is different. She is mentally ill. Which means that she can not put the brakes on her mouth...she can not distinguish between acceptable behavior, and unacceptable behavior.
Ellen, on the other hand, knows that if she were to say how she really feels and thinks about things, would insult and lose her audience. It happened to her before.
Rosie would run away crying before she tried to argue with Ann. It's a very nice daydream though. :-)
