As much as we might like for him to make it official, he has other obligations right now, and he'll have plenty of time when those have been completed. You don't think a full YEAR before the election won't give the voters plenty of time to get to know the candidates? Most voters won't even start paying attention until the two major candidates have been chosen. The primaries are all about revving up the base of the party to get excited to campaign. I think there is plenty of time still left to do that.
