(RTTNews) - The Interfax, the Russian news agency, reported on Thursday that there were conflicting views regarding a possible coup in Ukraine. The Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko has reportedly dismissed the prosecutor general Svyatoslav Piskun. Consequently, security was send to evict Piskun from his office. In a retaliatory effort, Piskun had reportedly stormed the office of the prosecutor general with his supporters.

Well, since Yuschenko is the anti-Russian anti-communist liberty type guy, and he is ousted by the pro-Putin/Communists, then yes, this could be bad for liberty and good for tyranny scum. But I could be wrong, as I haven’t heard much from the Ukraine since Yuschenko got into power a couple of years ago.

I mean, poisoning your political opponents is just so evil. And it could happen here (think the Clntons).

The short answer is that Yuschenko was backed by George Soros, and is probably closer to the EU than the US. But he is far better than the alternative, which is a Putin puppet.

Putin is cranking up the Cold War again and trying to cow all his neighbors. Ukraine is the largest and most important of these neighboring states, sometimes known as Russia’s bread basket.

“Ha Ha! Do you know what the Ukraine is? It’s a sitting duck. The Ukraine is weak. It’s feeble. I think it’s time to put a little hurt on the Ukraine!”

The dismissal was termed as a coup by the government headed by Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovich

A coup would be if Yanukovich's mafia thugs were able to undermine Yushchenko's presidency. This is not a coup.

Actually Soros did not endorse Yushchenko. That was a rumor started by Yushchenko’s opponents to smear him. It’s not true.

All of Ukraine's most ardent nationalists were former commies. Yushchenko is no exception. Unfortunately for Ukraine, he is not the sharpest blade in the drawer. Which is why Berezovsky gave the Orange Revolution $20 million.

Soros did indeed give money to the Orange Revolution. But I don't think he did it for any nefarious purpose. Soros gave huge sums of money to many East European countries. Many expats, the children of Ukrainian DP's, moved to Ukraine after the coup and were funded solely by Soros. Some of his donations had good effects, others, not so good.

As for "anti Russian", Yushchenko built good ties with Russia.

Those "mafia thugs" now control the Rada and polls indicate Yanukovych is Ukraine's most trusted politician.

Blame Tymoshenko for the turn of events.

The Russians are not playing losing games.

All Ukraine's politicians are Russia's puppets.

The Rada has been dissolved by the President. Yanukovych controls only gangs of criminals.
