She is already excommunicated, she just hasn’t been the subject of a formal declaration. Maybe what she means is that no priest has ever denied her Communion.

I suspect you could say the same about a Roman Catholic Church on Oral Contraception.

I suspect the Muslims in America would outnumber RC women of childbearing age who aren't "excommunicated."

That’s true. And this is also directly related to the fact that the clergy stopped teaching it and were in flat-out rebellion against Rome. Now some of them are returning to obedience, but there is still a considerable amount of simple refusal among them.
