Wolfowitz and Gal Pal Split Up
New York Post ^ | May 23, 2007 | Richard Johnson

PAUL Wolfowitz has really had a bad couple of weeks. He not only lost his job, he lost his girlfriend, too.

Wolfowitz, one of the architects of the Iraq war, was pushed out as president of the World Bank over a controversial pay and promotion package he arranged for his brunette girlfriend, Shaha Ali Riza. Sources say Riza, a brilliant feminist with a promising diplomatic career, was upset by all the publicity and the implication that she was getting ahead with the help of a powerful man. "She was furious about the embarrassment," said one source.

Last week, Wolfowitz bowed to mounting pressure over the cronyism scandal, agreeing to step down June 30. The announcement came nine months after Page Six first revealed how he'd ruffled the feathers of World Bank employees by dating, and then promoting, the Tunisian divorcée, who managed the bank's External Relations and Outreach for the Middle East and North Africa Region.

After Wolfowitz joined the World Bank, Ali Riza was first transferred to a joint World Bank/U.S. Agency for International Development multinational investment project, and then to work on the bank's South American interests.

"Apparently she never asked for a promotion and liked her old job," our source said.

She’s a feminist the way the Hildebeast is a feminist. You know, ride a powerful man’s coattails to the top. That kind of “feminist.”

"As I noted last week, nothing good comes from banging an employee."

True, but that's not really why he was fired. The globalist liberals at the WB hated his guts. They just weren't going to stand for an evil Bush cronie there. The girlfriend was just the excuse they needed. As the Wall Street Journal noted, Woflie got railroaded.

Wolfowitz played his role stupidly. How in the world did he get the job at the World Bank then act like a dunce.

“As I noted last week, nothing good comes from banging an employee.”

True, but that’s not really why he was fired.

It usually isn’t the ‘offical reason’ in the vast majority of these types of circumstance, in my experience.

‘Poor communication skills’ is a tip off the termination is about something the employer doesn’t want to admit publicly, for example.

Glad you got a kick out of it. I’ve been in the security fielf for several decades, conducting internal and external investigations along these lines (always hated it). You’d be stunned by what you find on a covert camera in an elevator...or what you’ll find if you stroll through a ‘closed’ law firm on any given night for that matter.

I own a couple of small businesses. You have enough problems doing that without being stupid with the employees.

Besides, my wife is an excellent shot.....(chuckle)

And works as my CFO.

I figured as much. I’m always on the lookout for an opportunity to insert a gratuitous Seinfeld joke/reference.

Can anybody say “set-up”? You know the World Bank didn’t want PW anymore than the UN wanted Bolton or anyone else Bush picks. It wouldn’t surprise me if his galpal was doing some “undercover” work for the opposition.

‘Can anybody say “set-up”? ‘

Sure.

Whats the term for a man that knew he was going to be set up, allowed it to happen, then got fired?

I call it ‘Wolfowitzing’

OK, I repeat:
SHE was NOT his employee while they were ‘dating.’
She was an employee of the World Bank before he was brought on. The President appointed him. He tried to do the right thing and notify the Board of the potential conflict. They assured him it was OK... then stabbed him in the back.
His HONORABLE actions are documented.

YOU ARE WRONG. And so are a LOT of people on this fin thread!

....and Wolfie's wife in this drab menagerie a troix is an anthropologist specializing in the exciting field of Indonesian stiffs and skulls.

I'll bet SHE has coke-bottom eye glasses, wears no nail polish, and hides her webbed toes with men's Birkenstocks.

There'll never be a movie of this triparte love drama because the day of the Three Stooges is long past.

Here’s a paragraph you should read:

“The subcommittee report acknowledged that [Wolfowitz] tried to avoid getting involved in the disposition of the matter, and even Mr. Wolfowitz’s opponents agree that Ms. Riza was entitled to some compensation for having to uproot her career. It is also worth noting that the board, upon receiving his resignation, officially ruled that Mr. Wolfowitz “acted ethically and in good faith in what he believed were the best interests of the institution.” Unfortunately, that’s not how casual headline browsers will remember the story.”

See, now you’re not just a headline-browser anymore. You know a little more than when you were just reading Badeye.

‘YOU ARE WRONG. And so are a LOT of people on this fin thread!’

You can cling to that fantasy if you wish, no problem here.

Its ridiculous, but I will fight for your right to be ridiculous til the cows come home, friend....(chuckle)
