Per Sen. Sessions, they are presented with basically last years bill. That is what they will read and vote on. Then, later, when convenient, Reid and Company will substitute the new bill for the old bill. WHAT???

I called my senators - Dole will vote against the bill.
Burr hasn’t released his position yet.

Rudy AND Romney AND McCain (obviously) supported last years bill, which is almost identical to the new version.

The bigger "F**k you!" By Michelle Malkin · May 19, 2007 10:30 PM
So, open-borders sellout John McCain cursed out Sen. John Cornyn. Yawn.
I didn't get all worked up about it. You know why?
Because when it comes to "F**k yous!," no obscene utterance compares to the George W. Bush-backed, RNC-backed, Kennedy-conspired, fantasy-based amnesty profanity unleashed on conservatives and the country. Message:

If Frist had ever tried something like this he would have been crucified for it, and rightly so.
Well, that is sort of the same type of thing Hastert did with the prescription bill. Dems were shut out of meetings, while drug co and insurance co representatives were invited in to help write it.
After it was 'ready', Hastert opened a 15-minute voting period in the full House. That 15 minutes ran into 30, and 45, and 1 hour, and 2 hours. (IIRC) it was almost 3 hour and 15 minutes before the voting finally closed. It took Hastert that long to arm-twist 4 or 5 hold-out members into voting in the affirmative.

Strangely enough- he had a very favorable impression of the bill after his interview with Tony Snow- however I see now that he’s come back to his senses.

Folks, this is what Senator Sessions ...now speaking...said Kennedy, Bush, McCain et al, are trying to do to us.
Introduce last years bill....pass it...
..and then slide in the new bill...
How they can do this, I don't know...
..but Sessions has been there long enough to know this.

Check out this 2006 ad from the American Meat Institute:"Though no one wants to reward illegal behavior, we must find a way for these workers to come forward, make good on the past and participate in a program that leads to permanent residency and eventual citizenship."

I called Session’s office on Thur/Fri last week as well. I made sure to tell his staffer that I am not a constituent- but am so grateful for his work...on behalf of ALL Americans..

It is great that Sessions is the first to take the Floor in this debate. Those who follow (who support the bill) will have to refute Sessions’ claims, which will not be easy to do.
Thank you Sen. Sessions.
To: angkor
It looks to me like all those businesses that support this bill have been actively and deliberately hiring illegal aliens.

Thanks! I just tuned in....I’d love to know how many of our Representatives are actually PRESENT and LISTENING to a word he has to say....because I’m quite sure those in the pockets of the OBL are unwaivering in their support of this bill.

That is just not true. I listened to the Snow interview as he played it on the air, and Hugh was absolutely against it.
To: MrRights
the senator is against amnesty but he hasnt had a chance to read through the bill yet I called Vitter's office (LA Rep) and I told him my sentiments against this bill. The first words out of his mouth was "The Senator isn't for Amnesty". When I asked if he was opposed to the bill, he said he's doesn't know. I was livid and told him we are watching this vote carefully. He didn't say anything and I politely hung up. ARRRRGGGGHHH. The Senate is a den of anti-American slime.
