Monday, 1:00 p.m.: Convene and resume consideration of the motion to proceed to S. 1348, the Comprehensive Immigration Legislation.
You can't prosecute me if you can't find me or identify me. Remember...they came in under cover of darkness. Is my name Hosa or Fernando? Was I born twenty years ago or thirty? What is my address? Will you be able to find me to prosecute me? I doubt it, I'm spread out all over America. I don't have a real ID or a provable address so my employer let's me slide on a fake one to make some extra bucks.
Well, you get the picture.
Graham: We’ve sort of looked the other way and allowed illegal immigration to get out of hand.
Ya think!!!!!
Senator, maybe if you did the job the voters sent you there to do, you would fix it right. Legalizing 12 million PLUS all their relatives is not a solution, Senator!!!
Prove you are serious. Close the border. Then, we can talk.
They can’t. All they can do today is have a cloture vote, which means to move forward to debating it on the floor. I hope they manage to stop the stupid cloture vote and end it back to the Judiciary Committee. If I were writing the rules, rule one would be that no one can vote on any legislation that they (not their staff) haven’t read in its entirety.
For one thing, the room is practically empty. Not many open minds around there, it seems...
Graham certainly WAS NOT listening to Sessions!
There there, darlin. Nothing will be voted on today. Not all 100 of them have read all 700 pages yet...
The president said the other day that we love it when they work together (the dreaded bipartisanship)
NOT!
Everytime there is bipartisanship it costs the taxpayer, money and freedom.
STOP!
Please elaborate, Mom.
Hmmm...sounds like Lindsay is attempting to play the racist, nativist card. I'm think I'm about to upchuck right now...
I am so sick of his good ole boy folksy schtick....
Oh good, call us bigots again.
As I said earlier ... there are too many RINO’s and too few Dems against. This is a done deal. It’s on to the House. (I ray I’m wrong)
Graham is weak willed wimp. Building a wall is very easy. You just need leaders who believe in the greatness of American and believe it in it's sovereignty.
I just wish some conservative billionaire would offer to match donations to build it privately. I would gladly donate and spend two weeks of my vacation to help build it. It's just a damn wall. They act like it is something impossible to do, like getting Kennedy to speak the truth.
Sen. Patrick Leahy up now...
Not Spiff but allow me:
1)Amnesty from illegal entry into the United States that allows all 12 to 20 million illegal aliens to remain in the United States with probationary legal status in violation of the rule of law. In addition, it prohibits anyone from being deported between the time the law is enacted and the time they file their paperwork. This permits them to continue to use their fraudulent documents and stolen identities with impunity until such time as they are given new documents by the U.S. government.
2) They will be given three drunk driving offenses before being deported. (Section 225)
3) They will not have to pay back taxes. Of course, American citizens will not receive their taxes back, and will still be on the hook for back taxes.
4) Any who have been committing identity theft will get a pass, and any government employee who divulges the identity theft, even to the victim, will be fined $10,000. (Section 604)
5) There is a 24 hour period for background checks. After that, the visa must be approved regardless. American citizens can’t even get a passport in 24 hours.
6) Amnesty for businesses who have violated federal tax law - Section 605. Any business that didn’t pay taxes associated with the employment of illegal aliens has the slate wiped clean. Employers who violate tax laws while hiring authorized workers receive no such amnesty.
7)Amnesty for businesses that have hired illegal aliens in violation of current law - Section 605. Businesses that have accepted fraudulent documents, stolen identities including those of hundreds of thousands or possibly even millions of American children, and who have paid substandard wages are granted total amnesty.
8) Groups of those who employ illegals and racist groups who want to “re-conquer” the U.S. were basically sitting outside the deliberation room to advise the senators. They refuse to answer me when I ask if any regular patriotic Americans were also advising them.
9) The bill transforms the federal Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) from a law-enforcement agency into an amnesty-distribution center. If ICE officials apprehend an alien who appears eligible for the Z visa (in other words, just about any illegal alien), they cant detain him. Instead, ICE must help him apply for the Z visa.
Rather than initiating removal proceedings, ICE will be initiating amnesty applications. Its like turning the Drug Enforcement Agency into a needle-distribution network.
10) The bill even lets gang members get the amnesty. This comes at a time when violent international gangs have brought mayhem to our cities. More than 30,000 gang members operate in 33 states, trafficking in drugs, arms and people.
Yep,
Securing the border is not all that complicated.
Wall, personnell, no one gets in.
That’s pretty much it.
No Lins... the new immigrants are the brothers who wanted to take out soldiers at Ft. Dix, I guess their brothers can come in to get on the road to citizenship along with them.
The hijackers... expired visas... drivers licenses from different states.
Just because Lindsey seems so comfortable ....not worried...
I thought Graham was elected from South Carolina.
He sounds like he is representing the state of Sonora or Oaxaca or Chihuahua.
Ok- here’s why I say that. Graham rants and raves, but underneath, all the time, he’s making statements like...if you don’t think this can pass, come in here and suggest something better...don’t just complain about our efforts, tell us how to improve it...
YESTERDAY- he said it would pass, with 75 votes.
TODAY- he’s says- if you don’t like it- FIX IT.
