POST FALLS, Idaho Two home-schooled teenagers in this northern town say they are carrying loaded guns to the library, grocery store and other public areas for self-defense, as a crime deterrent, and to educate others about their rights.
, 18, carries a loaded on his hip. His 15-year-old brother, Steven, carries a in a sling on his back.
Police have been called on several occasions to question the teens but have not found the teens to be in violation of the law.
In Idaho, residents 18 and older can openly carry a firearm in public. And those ages 13 to 17 who have parental permission can carry a rifle in public.

Here in the Boise metro area, the cities of Nampa and Caldwell are considered “high-crime”, at least relative to Boise proper.
One thing those two towns have in common is a growing population of illegals.
A quick google on “Jude Doty” will give a lot of background on this family, and their brushes with the law in Washington.
The range I patronize is in Post Falls (Center Target Sports - great folks, highly recommended). It's a bedroom community between Spokane, Wa, and Coeur d'Alene. Development up the wazoo - the woods out back our family's old place are a housing tract now. But hey, there's an upside - it didn't used to have an indoor range, either.
Thanks for posting.
Actually, fairly high for a town of its size...

(Crime data about 2/3 down)
I’m a little ashamed to live in a country where this is considered news.
“The range I patronize is in Post Falls (Center Target Sports - great folks, highly recommended).”
Yeah I used to spend a fair amount of money there... But no more.
Per the article in the press: http://www.cdapress.com/articles/2007/05/20/news/news01.txt
Mr Santos: “Openly carrying guns is allowable in many states, but Santos said he wonders if having guns in plain view on city streets while just being out and about was the intent of the law writers.
“I believe the intent was to allow it more for hunting and recreation,” Santos said.”
I went to the Center Target Sports web page http://www.centertargetsports.com/contact.cfm and sent an email to Mr Santos. The 2nd ammendment isn’t about hunting or recreation. He knows better.
LOL!!

Illegals of any magnitude ALWAYS spike the crime rate.
Right to carry

Great read!
God Bless Idaho. Pretty clear they’re not interested in following California, isn’t it...
The photo of the safe reminds me of that old adage, if you have space, it will be filled.
Cheers
A lot of schools had Gun clubs in those days. After school we would Hunt crows, squirrels, rabbits, trap muskrats, fish and when it got hot we would go skinny dipping in the brook. And we always were home for dinner and our parents never had to call the police because they were worried about us. What the Hell happened in the last 30 years? Whatever it was it is not for the good of this country!
Oh, those guns are so cute! And look how they roll over and want you to rub their tummies!
Can I keep one, please? I PROMISE I'll take care of it!
These marvelous youngsters need to be congratulated and encouraged. I intend to send them a message of encouragement, perhaps a donation to a potential legal defense fund.
