Post of the day nomination. These Tiny Tent conservatives would rather destroy our leaders than attempt to change their minds. Just blast Bush and wash your hands.

Notice how they have no solutions to the problem and never have. Their answer is “enforce the law”. Good, take all of our police and ignore everything but shovelling sand back to Mexico. How much money we going to spend on that Mr conservative?

Then they want to close businesses, but not theirs; who probably have Mexicans mowing the lawns if not more. Do they boycot golf courses who have Mexican workers or fast food, house framing, lumber milling, etc??
Bunch of hypocrites.

One of many reasons I left the conservative movement.

Pray for W and Our Troops

May I suggest that since you have left the conservative movement you proceed onto another website more to your liking. This website is for conservatives.

Why hasn't the border been secured, especially after 9/11? Enforcing the law is what this country is based on. No one should be above it. If you selectively enforce the laws, it tears the very fabric of our society. If this new immigration bill passes, should it be enforced?

We don't even know how many illegal aliens are in this country nor do we have any real data on how much they are costing us. How can we set good public policy without good data?

For a comprehensive answer to your question about solutions peruse this report by the Heritage Foundation, dated May 10, 2007. http://www.heritage.org/Research/Immigration/bg2034.cfm

Americans have, are, and will do every job needed to be done in America. There are NO "jobs Americans will not do".

Having started with that sad and incorrect assertion the President continues with a sad and incorrect campaign for immigration.

There ARE economic reasons to allow cheap labor in. For myself, I am MORE in favor of allowing the poor and so called "unskilled" in than I am the so-called "skilled". That's a lesson of past in migrations -- the greater contributions to America from those who develop their in-born gifts in America.

However the plan on the table is inscrutable -- too large, too unwieldy, too promoting of irregularity and discord in the courts and in the towns where their are already problems with migrants arrived here outside of legal entryways. It is a law that if passed (pray it is not) will ADD to disrespect for law.

Their answer is “enforce the law”.

Enforce existing laws, before writing a massive new contract with more laws to enforce.
The Border Patrol officers that were sentenced to prison for doing their jobs are an
example of not being able to operate on the existing set of laws. You suggest we enact new
laws on top of the ones we are already unable to enforce?

It doesn't make sense to overload yourself with new laws, when the old set of rules
just might do the trick if implemented.

Thanks, bray. It gets increasingly difficult to enjoy FR with all of the Bush bashing about this or that. I cannot abide it! He has the most difficult job in this world and gets enough crap from the liberals. The conservative only purist crowd has only helped the liberals.
