Unfortunately politicians do not always do what the people they represent want.

In Britain the majority of the people would be in favour of the death penalty no party is ever going to have that as part of their manifesto.

Most Britain's want tougher immigration laws no party will ever be tough enough.

It is not only their own citizens that they listen to they worry and pander to world opinion even more you may well have a case of this here.

Many may fear if they tougher for example deport a few million then world opinion will turn against further against America which most of them believe is already not favourable because of Iraq whether that is true or not is probably academic.

The PC attitude you point out is already dictating public policy. It is intimidation, not based on principle and it’s literally destroying my country.

What the world thinks of us .. matters- but it does not matter if there is no us, left.

If you think that attitude is overly dramatic- a year ago I would tell you I would never think or believe what I do now.
