The PC attitude you point out is already dictating public policy. It is intimidation, not based on principle and it’s literally destroying my country.
What the world thinks of us .. matters- but it does not matter if there is no us, left.
If you think that attitude is overly dramatic- a year ago I would tell you I would never think or believe what I do now.
Which GOP candidate, in the debate, mentioned ‘world opinion’ NOT mattering? (I think it was McCain who mentioned that as a concern.)
