Although immigration is a HUGE single issue. W has always said he was against amnesty. Seeing the definition as posted elsewhere on FR, he still is - although the 'punishment' he has in mind is NOT NEARLY TOUGH ENOUGH. I want to see current laws enforced FIRST.
Americans will do any job that might be had.
No, the best deal would be an agreement on securing the borders with a two-year pause to make adjustments. After everyone agrees that the borders are secure, we can deal with the illegals here.
But we all know the borders will be forgotten in a rush to create citizens out of these lawbreakers.
A Republican President will never in the present era be regarded as a good communicator because the majority of the people will never hear him.
If people took time to read and listen to articles on the White House website I am sure they would hold a different view but we all know the average Joe will not and probably cannot do this.
Hence the myth that GWB cannot communicate will continue maybe history will reflect this different but that will depend who writes it.
In the present climinate in Washington this is probably true
MYTH: Freepers are making ‘overly emotional accusation(s)’.
FACT: La Raza had veto power over a secret bill.
That is caring ‘more about La Raza’.
FACT: The White has screwed America, alienated its base,
but has consolidated the likelihood of its impeachment
and conviction by Democrats.
Meanwhile, we still waste time on Gonzalez.
Of course- but Graham is 100% on this bill.
Just appalling.
Don’t miss Newt on MTP.
He is thrashing the dem congress...haven’t got one thing done but want the Iraqis to accomplish everything...won’t stand with the President of Colombia because they don’t like the “tone” of things he has had to do.
Points out that if we leave Iraq, they will have to do some ugly things and then we’ll cut off funding to them because we don’t like those things.
And incidentally, it's getting more and more difficult to watch the Sunday shows for more than five minutes.
Too bad there doesn’t seem to be any similarly smart politicians on the GOP side.
Explain the impeachable offsense.
It may be true. But it’s not going to happen without one hell of a fight from many of us.
Thanks for the reminder...Newt will hold his own...AND agrees with us.
Dodd does nothing but recite talking points. You’ve heard them all before.
Graham has become a modern-era McCain within the GOP.
Lindsay seems to be making sense on the War at least.
I must read this statement from the White House completely different to you then

For goodness sake think and stop behaving like a child who cannot have things one hundred per cent their way.
It is absolutely amazing how many will say that no law was broken in ‘firing’ these people, but turn around and say how mean and horrible W and Gonzalez are.
Let living in a waking nightmare. I cannot think of anything that would more make “President Hillary” MORE likely then this stupid Immigration bill.
The urge to political suicide in the GOP Leadership is simply unbelievable.
