Muslim outrage over Judeo-Christian values (Australia}
the Courier Mail ^ | May 19, 2007 | Ben Packham

MUSLIMS are outraged that prospective citizens will have to acknowledge the Judeo-Christian tradition as the basis of Australia's values system.

Australia's peak Muslim body said the proposed citizenship question - revealed in the Herald Sun - was disturbing and potentially divisive.

Australian Federation of Islamic Councils president Dr Ameer Ali said the "Abrahamic tradition" or "universal values" would be less divisive ways of describing the nation's moral base.

Dr Ali said use of the term Judeo-Christian was the result of "WWII guilt", and before 1945 Australia would have been called only Christian.

"That question must be rephrased," he said.

Dr Ali was backed by Democrats senator Lyn Allison, who said the answer to the question was highly debatable.

But Immigration Minister Kevin Andrews stood firm on the merit of the question.

Mr Andrews said Australia's Judeo-Christian heritage was indisputable historical fact.

"We are not asking people to subscribe to the Judeo-Christian ethic," he said.

"We are simply stating a fact that this is part of the heritage of Australia in terms of its foundation.

"This is not an exercise in political correctness. It is trying to state what has been the case and still is the case."

But Health Minister Tony Abbott confused the issue, saying the modern Australian values system was secular, or of no particular religion.

The Herald Sun yesterday revealed 20 key questions, developed in consultation with Mr Andrews, that are likely to be asked of would-be citizens.

Mr Andrews said the test, to begin by September, would help immigrants integrate into society better.

“Muslim outrage” is a redundant expression, unless, of course, you are referring to one of their barbaric murderous exploits.

Ah, but that's the rub. The Islamic "Abrahamic tradition" isn't the same as the Judeo-Christian "Abrahamic tradition".
It goes back to "was it Isaac or was it Ishmael that was to be sacrificed". Judeo-Christian belief says it was Isaac while Islamic belief says it was Ishmael. It's not the same thing by a long shot.
And as far as "universal values" goes, everybody in the world doesn't believe that Saria law should be the governing values which is really what he's espousing.

In short, he's double talking and most won't realize what he's really saying.

That presumes that the immigrants even care to integrate into society. For certain immigrants, I'd suspect that they'd rather conquer it than assimilate into it.

They want their cult protected and respected in the West; yet in most Muslim countries Christians risk death when practicing their religion.

What’s up with that?

"That question must be rephrased," he said.

No, we like it the way it is.

Why don't you "rephrase" your cult religion? In fact, using your words, it MUST be changed.

Head-chopping and throat-slitting are not part of Judeo-Christian values, so Get T. F. Out!

They just keep chipping away until any mention of any religion other than Islam, is taboo. In the meantime, foot washing basins will be required by building codes, even in Churches.

I bet they wouldn't have to acknowledge Judeo-Christian values in, say, Egypt.

If they go back to where they came from, they won't have to acknowledge Judeo-Christian values. I wonder if any of them have thought of that as an option?

I was once told that trying to argue with a muzzie is like trying to nail jello to a wall.

...trying to nail jello to a wall.
I take it that you've never seen desiccated jello?
Leave some out and watch as it dries up.

Infidelophobia at its finest (play victim card). The greatest anti-truth, anti-freedom, anti-individual, anti-life collective in the history of civilization IS disturbing AND divisive.

The west needs to do whatever it takes to keep the Islamic fifth column out. We don’t need those folks. In many places their ultimate goal is sharia law.
